EDD UI Online account password reset emails not arriving - locked out for 2 weeks!
I've been trying to access my UI Online account for over 2 weeks now but can't get in. Whenever I click 'Forgot Password' it says an email will be sent, but NOTHING ever shows up in my inbox! I've checked spam/junk folders at least 50 times, added edd.ca.gov to my safe senders list, and even tried using a different email address on my account. Still nothing. I have a certification due in 3 days and I'm panicking because my last payment is still pending from 2 weeks ago ($675). I've called the technical support line about 30 times but it either disconnects immediately or says they're experiencing high call volume. Has anyone else experienced this password reset email problem? Is there a secret trick to actually get the reset email to show up? Or some alternative way to reset my account without that stupid email link?

This is actually a pretty common issue with EDD's system. The reset emails can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 24 hours to arrive, and sometimes they never show up at all. Have you tried these steps? 1. Make sure you're using the exact email address that's registered with your UI Online account 2. Try requesting the reset during non-peak hours (early morning like 6-7am) 3. Clear your browser cache completely before requesting the reset 4. If you're using Gmail, check the "All Mail" folder, not just inbox and spam If none of that works, you might need to call the technical support number (not the regular EDD number). The tech support folks can manually reset your account.

•Thanks for the suggestions! I've actually tried all of those except requesting during early morning hours. Will set an alarm for 6am tomorrow. Is the tech support number different from the main EDD number? I've been calling 833-978-2511 but haven't been able to reach anyone.

•I have gmail and still had this problem tho. I think their whole email system is just garbage honestly.

Try clicking the password reset link multiple times about 30 seconds apart. For some weird reason, I didn't get the first 3 reset emails, but after clicking it 4 times, all the emails suddenly showed up at once! Something seems broken in their system where the requests get queued up and then process in batches. Also check your email account settings - some email providers might be auto-filtering EDD emails as promotional or updates and putting them in folders you don't check.

•That's an interesting tip! I just tried clicking the reset button 5 times in a row with about 30 seconds between each click. Now I'll wait and see if anything shows up. I've literally checked every folder in my email but will double check the promotions and updates tabs too.

This exact issue caused me to miss TWO certification periods and my claim got messed up with a false overpayment notice. The EDD system is COMPLETELY BROKEN and they don't care at all. I spent THREE WEEKS trying to get this fixed. Their tech support doesn't even understand their own systems. The only way I finally got it fixed was by contacting my state assembly member's office. They have special EDD liaisons who can escalate these issues. Google your district's assembly member and look for their "EDD assistance" form on their website. They got my password reset done in 48 hours after weeks of nothing from EDD directly. The whole system is a joke. They expect us to certify on time but then make it IMPOSSIBLE to even log in!!!

•This is actually good advice. My cousin had to do this too when her account was locked and nobody at EDD would help. The assembly person's office fixed it in like 3 days.

I had this exact problem and found a solution that worked! The issue is that the EDD system generates the password reset email but sometimes their email server has delays or routing problems. Try this workaround: 1. Request the password reset as normal 2. Wait about 30 minutes (I know it's frustrating) 3. Call the EDD tech support line at 833-978-2511 4. When the automated system asks why you're calling, say "password reset" 5. This sometimes routes you to a different queue with shorter wait times If you're still struggling to get through, I discovered a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an EDD representative quickly. They basically hold your place in line and call you back when they have an agent on the line. Saved me hours of frustration. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km Once you get through to a tech support person, they can verify your identity and manually reset the password without needing the email to come through.

•Thank you so much for this detailed information! I tried saying "password reset" to the automated system but it still transferred me to the main queue that's always full. I might check out that Claimyr service - at this point I'm desperate enough to try anything. Did they require you to give them your personal EDD info or just your phone number?

•They just need your phone number to call you back when they reach an agent. You don't give them any EDD account info - you talk directly to the EDD agent yourself when they connect you. I was skeptical too at first but it worked really well.

To properly troubleshoot this issue, I'd recommend taking these steps in order: 1. First, verify the email address on your EDD account is correct. Many people have typos in their email addresses (like gmail.con instead of gmail.com). 2. Password reset emails typically arrive within 30 minutes, but during high-volume periods can take up to 4 hours. 3. Check ALL email folders including spam, junk, promotions, updates, and archived messages. 4. Try accessing UI Online from a different device entirely - sometimes the login cookie gets corrupted. 5. If you have access to your original EDD account registration email, you can use the information there to verify your identity when calling. 6. As a last resort, you can visit an in-person EDD office with identification to have them reset your access. Important: If your certification is due in 3 days, you can also certify by phone using TeleCert at 1-866-333-4606. This might help you avoid missing your certification deadline even if you can't log in.

•Thank you for mentioning TeleCert! I completely forgot that was an option. I'll definitely use that if I can't get my online access fixed by my certification deadline. I don't have my original registration email anymore (it was from 2023 and I've cleaned out my inbox since then), but I'll try the different device suggestion - haven't tried that yet.

•I was using Chrome but just tried with Microsoft Edge and Firefox - same problem with both. The reset password page works fine, it just never sends the email. Good suggestion though!

This happened to my sister last month and she found out her email address had a typo in it in the EDD system. Something like a missing letter. She had to call and have them correct it before she could get the reset emails. Might be worth checking if you can remember exactly how you entered your email when you first registered?

Hey, just following up - were you able to get this resolved? I'm curious which method ended up working for you.

•Finally got it fixed! After trying everything suggested here with no luck, I ended up using that Claimyr service to get through to EDD. Took about 40 minutes to get a callback with an agent on the line. Turns out my account was actually LOCKED due to too many failed login attempts (which wasn't my fault - I hadn't even tried logging in that many times!). The agent had to manually unlock it and reset my password. All working now and I was able to certify just in time. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Thanks for updating us! That's great you got it resolved. It's strange how the system didn't even tell you it was locked from too many attempts - it just kept saying it would send reset emails that never arrived. Classic EDD confusion. Glad you got through in time for your certification!

So glad to hear you got it resolved! This thread is super helpful for anyone else dealing with this issue. I'm bookmarking it because I feel like EDD account problems are so common and their error messages are never clear about what's actually wrong. The fact that your account was locked but the system was still pretending to send reset emails is typical EDD - they make everything so confusing. Thanks for sharing the solution that worked!

•This is exactly why I joined this community! These kinds of detailed problem-solving threads are so valuable. I'm dealing with a similar issue right now where my account seems to be working but my payments are stuck in "pending" status for weeks. Reading through all the suggestions here gives me hope that there are actual solutions out there. The EDD system really is terrible at communicating what's actually wrong - like how @Laila Fury s'account was locked but the system kept acting like it was sending reset emails. Makes you wonder how many other people are stuck thinking it s'an email delivery problem when it s'actually something completely different!
