EDD Parental Leave Pending & C-Section Disability Claim Help Needed
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a parental leave case that's been pending for a while now. On top of that, my wife had a c-section and we're trying to figure out her disability claim too. Anyone have experience with either of these? What should I be asking when I finally get through to someone?

Congrats on the new addition to your family! 🎉 For the parental leave, make sure you have all your documentation in order. They usually want proof of birth, employment verification, and sometimes medical records. As for the c-section disability claim, your wife's doctor should provide a report detailing the procedure and recovery time. Don't forget to ask about any additional benefits you might be eligible for!

•Thanks for the advice! Do you know how long the c-section disability usually lasts? We're trying to plan our finances.

•It can vary, but typically 6-8 weeks. Some women might need longer depending on their recovery. Definitely ask the doctor for their recommendation and get it in writing for the claim.

•Just a heads up, my wife's c-section claim took forever to process. Start it ASAP if you haven't already!

ugh, good luck getting anyone on the phone. I've been trying for weeks and keep getting the runaround. The system is so broken 🤬

•I feel you. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits. 🙄

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I had some luck with that.

•Yeah, I've tried everything. Early morning, late afternoon, different days. No luck. It's infuriating!

I actually found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just some scam?

•I get the skepticism, but it's legit. I was desperate and gave it a shot. Worked like a charm. saved me from pulling my hair out lol

•$20 to actually talk to a human? might be worth it at this point 😩

Here's what you need to know about parental leave and disability claims for c-sections: 1. Parental Leave: - Usually up to 12 weeks of leave - Can be taken all at once or intermittently - You need to provide proof of birth and employment verification - Benefits are typically a percentage of your regular wages 2. C-Section Disability: - Generally covered for 6-8 weeks postpartum - Requires medical certification from the doctor - Benefits usually start after a short waiting period Key questions to ask: - What's the status of your pending case? - Are there any documents missing? - What's the typical processing time? - For the c-section claim, ask about the application process and any special requirements Pro tip: Keep detailed records of all your calls, including date, time, and who you spoke with. It can help if there are any discrepancies later. Hope this helps! Good luck with everything 👍

•Great info! Just want to add that some employers offer additional parental leave benefits on top of state programs. Worth checking with HR too.

anyone else feel like they need a law degree to understand all these benefits? 🤯 why do they make it so complicated?

Pro tip: If you can, try to have your wife on the call with you when discussing her disability claim. Sometimes they won't give out info to spouses without consent.

•Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I'll make sure she's available when I call.

Heads up, they might try to lowball you on the c-section recovery time. My wife's doctor recommended 8 weeks, but they initially only approved 6. We had to appeal to get the full time. Don't be afraid to push back if needed!

idk if this helps, but I found their website actually had some decent info when I could get it to load properly. Might be worth checking out while your waiting to get through on the phone.
