EDD DE 429D Notice of Computation shows incorrect total wages - Need help fixing!

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my DE 429D form from EDD. The Notice of Computation shows my total wages are incorrect. Has anyone else dealt with this before? I'm not sure how to proceed and it's been a real headache trying to get through to someone at EDD. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had the same issue last year. Have you tried gathering all your wage statements and tax documents? That's what helped me prove the discrepancy.

Thanks for the tip! I've got most of my documents together, but I'm missing a few pay stubs. Do you know if bank statements would work as proof?

Bank statements might help, but EDD really prefers official pay stubs or W-2 forms. Maybe try contacting your previous employers for copies?

Bank statements worked for me! Just make sure they clearly show the deposits from your employer. EDD accepted mine when I was missin a couple pay stubs.

I've been dealing with EDD for months now and it's a nightmare. Their system is so broken, I swear they just make up numbers sometimes 🤡

Guys, cmon. The system may have issues but the people there are just trying to do their jobs. Let's focus on helping OP instead of bashing EDD.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! There's this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but it's a real service. They even have reviews on Trustpilot if you want to check it out.

Here's what you need to do to resolve your DE 429D issue: 1. Gather all your wage information: W-2 forms, pay stubs, and any other proof of income for the period in question. 2. Write a clear, concise letter explaining the discrepancy. Include calculations showing what you believe your correct wages should be. 3. Make copies of everything - don't send originals! 4. Mail your letter and copies to: Employment Development Department PO Box 826880 Sacramento, CA 94280-0001 5. Follow up with a phone call about 2 weeks after mailing. Be persistent! 6. If you don't get a response within 30 days, consider filing an appeal. Remember, stay calm and document everything. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is exactly what I needed. I'll start working on this right away.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to fix my wage issue for weeks. Let me know if you find a solution that works!

Will do! Fingers crossed we both get this sorted out soon. 🤞

Pro tip: keep a log of every interaction with EDD. Date, time, who you spoke to, what was said. It'll save you headaches later, trust me.

This! 👆 I learned this the hard way. Now I record all my calls with them (check your state laws first tho

Anyone know if theres a way to check our wage records online? Seems like that would make this whole process easier...

You can view some info on UI Online, but for detailed wage records, you usually have to request them directly from EDD. It's not as convenient as it should be 🙄

OP, what industry do you work in? Some industries (like restaurant work) are more prone to wage reporting errors.

I went through this exact same issue about 6 months ago! The key thing that worked for me was requesting a "wage detail report" directly from EDD - it shows exactly what employers reported vs what you actually earned. You can request it by calling the UI customer service line or through UI Online. Once I had that report, I could see exactly where the discrepancy was (turned out one of my employers had reported the wrong quarters). Then I followed Zara's advice about mailing documentation. The whole process took about 6 weeks but they did correct it. Don't give up - you've got this! 💪

This is super helpful! I didn't even know you could request a wage detail report - that sounds like exactly what I need to figure out where the error is coming from. Did you have any trouble getting through to request it, or was UI Online pretty straightforward for that?
