CalJobs Resume Upload Error: Account Verification Issues - Help Needed!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble uploading my resume on CalJobs. I keep getting an error message and I can't seem to get past the account verification step. Has anyone else run into this issue? I've tried reaching out to their support team, but I'm not getting anywhere. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, CalJobs is such a nightmare! I had the same problem last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird upload issues.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it helps. Fingers crossed 🤞

I second this! Also, make sure your resume is in the right format. I think they only accept .doc, .docx, or .pdf files.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate after waiting on hold for hours. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved.

How long did you have to wait once you used the service? Did they actually solve your problem?

It took about 45 minutes, which was way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to get through on my own. And yeah, they were able to help me upload my resume and verify my account. Saved me a ton of headache.

Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes CalJobs acts up with certain browsers. I had better luck using Firefox instead of Chrome.

I've been dealing with CalJobs issues for months now, and I've learned a few tricks. Here's what you can try: 1. Make sure your resume file size is under 1MB. They have a strict limit. 2. Try uploading during off-peak hours, like early morning or late at night. 3. If you're using a mobile device, switch to a desktop computer. 4. Double-check that all required fields in your profile are filled out. 5. If all else fails, try creating a new account with a different email address. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more advice.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk... but seriously, sometimes logging out and back in can help. Worth a shot!

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to upload my resume for days now. This whole system is a joke. How are we supposed to find jobs when we can't even use the dang website? 😤

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something

Hey, former EDD employee here. The CalJobs system is notoriously glitchy. If you're still having trouble after trying the suggestions here, I'd recommend reaching out to your local America's Job Center of California (AJCC). They often have staff who can help you navigate CalJobs issues in person.

Thank you so much for the insider tip! I'll definitely look into contacting my local AJCC if I can't get this resolved soon.

I went through this exact same issue a few weeks ago! What finally worked for me was using an incognito/private browser window and making sure I had a stable internet connection. Also, double-check that your resume doesn't have any special characters in the filename - I had to rename mine from "My Resume - 2024.pdf" to just "Resume2024.pdf" before it would upload. The account verification part can be tricky too - make sure all your personal info matches exactly what's on file with EDD. Hope this helps!

This is super helpful! I never would have thought about the filename having special characters. I'm definitely going to try the incognito window trick too - that's such a good idea. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!
