CalJobs identity verification issue - can't upload resume or access account

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble uploading my resume on CalJobs. The system is asking for identity verification and I can't get past that page. I've tried enabling cookies but it's still not working. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any advice on how to update my contact info or get through the verification process would be really helpful!

Ugh, I had the same problem last month. It's so frustrating! Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies completely? Sometimes that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give that a try and see if it works. Fingers crossed 🤞

clearing cache didnt work for me. had to use a different browser alltogether. try that maybe?

Oh, that's a good idea! I'll try Firefox instead of Chrome. Thanks!

CalJobs is the worst. I swear they make it difficult on purpose to keep people from applying for benefits. 🙄

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something.

Guys, let's not jump to conclusions. The system might be outdated, but I doubt they're intentionally making it hard.

Maybe not intentionally, but they sure ain't making it easy either! 🤷‍♂️

I found a way to get someone on the phone about this issue. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration!

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what worked for me: 1. Use a different email address to create a new account 2. Make sure all your contact info is up to date 3. Use a desktop computer instead of mobile 4. Have your ID and SSN ready for verification 5. If all else fails, try calling their tech support line Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed steps! I'll definitely try these out. Quick question - do you know if there's a specific time of day that's best to call tech support?

In my experience, early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon tend to have shorter wait times. Good luck!

have u tried turning it off and on again? 😂

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to upload my resume for weeks now. This whole system is a joke. Anyone know if there's a way to submit a complaint about the website?

You can try contacting your local representative. Sometimes they can help push things through or at least raise awareness about the issues.

That's actually a great idea. Didn't even think of that. Thanks!

Pro tip: If you're having trouble with the online system, try going to your local EDD office in person. Sometimes they can help you bypass the online verification stuff.

This! 👆 Face-to-face always works better imho

Just make sure to check their hours before you go. My local office changed their schedule recently and I showed up on the wrong day 🤦‍♂️

Anyone else think its weird that we have to jump through so many hoops just to LOOK for a job? Like, we're trying to work here! 🤔

0 coins

For real! It's like they're testing our patience before we even get to the job search part 😅

Hey OP, have you checked if your account is locked? Sometimes they lock accounts for security reasons and you need to call to get it unlocked. Happened to me last year.

0 coins

I didn't even know that was a thing! How can I check if my account is locked?

0 coins

Unfortunately, there's no way to check online. You'll have to call them to find out. It's a pain, I know 😕
