PFL leave request not processed after a month - causing financial stress. Any advice?

I submitted my PFL leave request over a month ago and it still hasn't been processed. This delay is causing me serious financial stress. Has anyone else experienced long wait times for their PFL requests? Any advice on how to speed up the process or what I should say when I call to check on the status?

I found a way to solve PFL leave request processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGokP4-66mA

Ugh, I feel your pain! I waited almost 2 months for mine to go through. The system is so backed up right now, its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes that can help move things along.

Thanks for the sympathy. I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try tomorrow morning.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about an hour.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 🤬

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Saved me hours of frustration and got my issue resolved.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your documents - make sure you have everything they might ask for. 2. Call first thing in the morning, like 7:59 AM. 3. Be polite but firm with the rep. Explain your financial hardship. 4. Ask if there's anything you can do to expedite the process. 5. Get a reference number for your call. 6. Follow up every few days if you don't hear back. Stay persistent! It's a pain, but you'll get through eventually. Good luck!

This is super helpful, thank you so much! I'll definitely try this approach.

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. It helps if you need to escalate later.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's a joke that in 2024 we're still dealing with these ridiculous wait times. Vote for change, people!

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing needs to be dragged into the 21st century.

Yeah but who's gonna pay for that? Our taxes are already through the roof 🙄

Just keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence is key. I called 37 times before I got through. Stay strong!

37 times?! Wow, that's dedication. I guess I need to step up my game.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.
