PFL hasn't acknowledged DE 2580GF form after 2 weeks - What to do about duplicate submission?
I submitted a form to continue my benefits two weeks ago, but the agency hasn't reviewed my case or even acknowledged that they received it. I'm getting worried because I need these benefits to continue. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do? I actually submitted the form again just in case they didn't receive it the first time. Should I ask them to disregard the duplicate?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating when they don't even acknowledge receiving your paperwork. I'd say definitely call them and ask about both submissions. Better to have them sort it out than risk your benefits getting messed up.

•Agreed! Always better to communicate with them directly. The waiting game is the worst 😫

•But good luck getting through on the phone 🙄 I've been trying for days!

•True that! The phone lines are a nightmare. I've had better luck emailing them, believe it or not.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep copies of everything you submit. EVERYTHING. 2. Send a follow-up email referencing your original submission date. 3. If you can, fax the form as well. Some offices still prefer fax 🤷♂️ 4. Call them daily. Yes, it's annoying, but persistence pays off. 5. If all else fails, contact your local representative's office. They can often help push things through. Don't worry about the duplicate submission. It's better to have sent it twice than not at all. Just make sure to mention both submissions when you talk to them. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't be afraid to be that squeaky wheel!

•Contacting your rep is key! They helped me so much when I was stuck in limbo with my claim.

I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before sending any notifications.

Pro tip: send it certified mail next time. That way you have proof they received it. Saved my butt more than once!

This happened to me last year. Turns out they had my old address on file and all my mail was getting sent to the wrong place. Might be worth double-checking your contact info with them.

Anyone else notice that ever since they "upgraded" their computer system, everything's been slower? 🤔

I feel your frustration! Two weeks with no acknowledgment is really stressful when you're depending on these benefits. I'd definitely recommend calling them about both submissions - it's better to be upfront about the duplicate than have it cause confusion later. One thing that helped me was keeping a detailed log of every submission with dates, times, and confirmation numbers (if any). Also, try calling first thing in the morning right when they open - I've had better luck getting through then. Don't give up! Sometimes it takes multiple attempts but persistence usually pays off with these agencies. Hang in there - you're not alone in this struggle! 💪

•This is such great advice! The morning call tip is gold - I never thought about timing it that way. Keeping a detailed log is so smart too, especially when you're dealing with multiple submissions. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏

I went through this exact same situation a few months back and it was nerve-wracking! Here's what worked for me: I called the main EDD number every day for a week straight, always right at 8am when they opened. On day 6, I finally got through to someone who could see both of my submissions in their system. The rep actually thanked me for being transparent about the duplicate - she said it happens all the time and they'd rather know upfront than discover it later and have to sort out the mess. She was able to flag one as a duplicate and process the other immediately. My benefits resumed within 3 business days after that call. Don't lose hope - the key is persistence and being honest about what happened. You've got this! 🤞

•This is so reassuring to hear! I've been stressed about submitting that duplicate form, but knowing that the reps are used to it and actually appreciate the honesty makes me feel so much better. Your persistence with the daily 8am calls is inspiring - I'm definitely going to try that approach. Thanks for sharing your success story! 🙏

I'm going through something similar right now - submitted my DE 2580GF form about 10 days ago and radio silence from EDD. It's so stressful when you're relying on these benefits! Reading through everyone's advice here, I think I'm going to try the early morning call strategy that a few people mentioned. Also planning to send a follow-up email with my original submission date like Isabella suggested. For what it's worth, I don't think you need to worry too much about the duplicate submission - from what I'm seeing in other threads, it happens more often than we think and they're used to dealing with it. Just be upfront about it when you do get through to someone. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic acknowledgment that our paperwork was received, but here we are! 🤷♀️ Keep us posted on how it goes - rooting for you!

•I'm in a very similar situation too - submitted my form about a week ago and nothing back yet. It's really helpful to see so many people sharing their experiences here! I'm definitely going to try the 8am calling strategy that Mateo mentioned worked for him. The stress of not knowing if they even received your paperwork is the worst part. Thanks for keeping us updated on your situation - hopefully we'll all get through this bureaucratic maze soon! 🤞
