PFL claim still processing after a month - no updates from EDD. Help!
Its been almost a month and my PFL claim is still processing. No updates at all. Anyone else dealing with this? How long did it take for your claim to go through?

Ugh, I feel ya. I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now and still nothing. The EDD is such a mess š¤¦āāļø

6 weeks?! That's insane. Have you tried calling them?

Yeah, I've tried calling like a million times. Always busy or they hang up on me. It's so frustrating!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is it legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what I've learned about PFL claims after going through this nightmare: ā¢ Processing time can vary wildly, from 2 weeks to 2+ months ā¢ They won't update you unless there's a problem or they need more info ā¢ Make sure ALL your paperwork is filled out correctly ā¢ If you can, get your employer to submit their portion ASAP ā¢ Keep calling and checking your online account Hang in there, OP. It's a slow process, but it'll come through eventually.

Thanks for the detailed info! Really helpful. Did you have to do anything special to speed up your claim?

Honestly, just being persistent. I called every week and politely asked for updates. Eventually, I got someone who actually looked into my claim and pushed it through.

Pro tip: contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD. Worked for me!

This is actually great advice. My cousin did this and got her claim sorted in like a week after months of waiting.

Wow, I never thought of that. How do I find my state rep?

Just google '[your city] state representative'. Most have a 'contact us' form on their website where you can explain your situation.
