PFL claim delayed after selecting 'other' for employer payment - help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my PFL claim and could use some advice. My SDI went through quickly, but now that I'm transitioning to PFL, it's taking forever. It's been almost the full 10 business days and still nothing. I'm worried I might have messed up the form. I selected 'other' for payment from employer, but I have integrated benefits and it'll actually be PTO. Do you think this could be what's holding things up? Has anyone else run into this problem or know how to fix it? I'm getting anxious about the delay and want to get this sorted ASAP.

Ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare sometimes! š¤¦āāļø I had a similar issue with my PFL claim. It turns out that selecting 'other' can definitely slow things down. They often need more clarification when you choose that option.

ā¢Thanks for the input! Did you end up having to modify your form or did it eventually go through?

ā¢I had to call them and explain the situation. After that, they were able to update it on their end and things moved along pretty quickly. Might be worth giving them a ring if you can get through!

Pro tip: Always be as specific as possible on these forms. Selecting 'other' is like asking for a delay. Next time, choose PTO if that's what it actually is. For now, you might need to contact them to clarify.

I feel ya, OP. The whole system is a mess. I've been dealing with EDD for months now and it's like pulling teeth. Hang in there!

ā¢Honestly, persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it takes 100 tries. And document EVERYTHING. Good luck!

Hey there! I work in HR and deal with this stuff all the time. Here's what you need to know: ⢠Selecting 'other' often triggers a manual review, which can cause delays ⢠Integrated benefits can be tricky for EDD to process ⢠PTO should definitely be specified as such on the form ⢠10 business days is actually pretty standard for PFL claims Your best bet is to call EDD and explain the situation. Ask if you can submit an amended form or if they can update it on their end. Be prepared with all your info handy when you call. And don't worry too much - these hiccups are common and usually get sorted out!

Guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

OP, whatever you do, DON'T give up. I know its frustrating but you'll get there. We're all in the same boat with this EDD nonsense. Keep us updated!
