PFL application approved but no updates for 6+ weeks - EDD delays?
I applied for PFL to start right after my disability ended, but got denied for applying too soon. I reapplied a week later and got approved with a letter stating my benefit amount and duration. It's been over 6 weeks now and I haven't heard anything since. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

I found a way to solve EDD claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=547IKNAuITw

Ugh, the EDD is such a mess! I had a similar experience last year. It took them almost 3 months to process my claim after I got that initial approval letter. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho 🙄

•I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. Did you just keep calling or did you find another way?

•I just kept calling like a maniac. Took me days to finally get someone on the line. It's ridiculous how understaffed they are.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through on my third try doing that.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Can confirm, I used it too. Expensive but beats wasting an entire day on hold.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep all your documentation organized. Make copies of everything. 2. Try calling early in the morning or late afternoon. Those are usually less busy times. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, send a message through your online account. 4. Consider contacting your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things along. 5. Be patient but persistent. The system is overwhelmed, but your claim will be processed eventually. Remember, your benefits will be backdated to when you were eligible, so you won't lose money due to their delays. Hang in there!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try contacting my assembly member, I hadn't thought of that.

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy if there's a dispute later.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there without sending a notification.

•I've been checking it daily, but no updates so far. Thanks for the suggestion though!

6 weeks? You're still in for a long wait, buddy. I'm going on 3 months now. This system is beyond broken.

•3 months?! That's insane. How are people supposed to survive while waiting that long?

•Ikr? It's a complete joke. I've had to borrow money from family just to keep afloat.
