PFL claim processed but no payment received - EDD delays?

My PFL claim says processed with a weekly benefit amount, but I still haven't received any money. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to get your payment after it showed as processed?

I'm in the same boat! My claim has been 'processed' for over two weeks now, and still no sign of the money. It's so frustrating. Have you tried calling them?

I've been trying to call for days, but I can never get through. It's like their phone lines are always busy or something 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I managed to get through after only 30 minutes on hold that way!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Okay, so here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. 'Processed' doesn't always mean the payment is on its way immediately. Sometimes there's a delay between processing and actual payment. 2. Check your payment method. If you chose direct deposit, it could take 2-3 business days after processing. For debit card, it might be faster. 3. Make sure all your documentation is in order. Sometimes they process the claim but hold the payment if they need additional info. 4. Keep an eye on your EDD account online. Sometimes status updates appear there before you receive any other notification. 5. If it's been more than 10 business days since your claim was processed, definitely try to contact them. Use the online contact form if you can't get through on the phone. Hope this helps! Hang in there, the system can be frustratingly slow sometimes.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll double-check my payment method and documentation. It's been about 8 business days for me, so I guess I'll give it a couple more days before I start panicking 😅

This is super helpful info! Saving this for future reference. You're the real MVP 💯

Have you checked your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb, but I missed an important email from them because it went to spam. Just a thought!

I hadn't even thought of that! Just checked and nothing there, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep an eye on it going forward.

I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. But yeah, do your own research.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck. Had to call and have them manually push it through. Might be worth checking if thats whats happening to you

Oh man, I hope that's not the case here. But thanks for sharing, I'll definitely bring this up if I manage to get through to someone on the phone.

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the entire unemployment/disability system? This is ridiculous. People are struggling to pay bills and feed their families, and we're left playing phone tag with an understaffed agency. 😤

Preach! 🙌 The system is so outdated. They need to invest in better technology and hire more staff.

Totally agree. It's 2023, why can't we have a system that actually works? smh

Similar experience here - my claim showed "processed" about 6 days ago but still waiting on payment. I called yesterday and finally got through after about 45 minutes on hold. The rep told me that even after processing, there can be a 5-10 business day delay for the actual payment to hit your account, depending on your payment method. She also mentioned that if you have direct deposit set up, double-check that your bank info is correct in your profile because sometimes payments get rejected by the bank and that causes additional delays. Hope this helps and that we both see our payments soon! 🤞

Thanks for sharing what the rep told you! That's really helpful to know about the 5-10 business day window. I'm on day 8 now, so hopefully I'm close. I should probably double-check my bank info just to be safe. Did the rep give you any other tips or things to watch out for?

I went through this exact same thing about 6 months ago! My claim showed "processed" for almost 3 weeks with no payment. Turns out there was an issue with my identity verification that wasn't clearly communicated anywhere in the system. What finally worked for me was submitting a contact form through the EDD website (under "Contact EDD" > "Ask EDD") explaining the situation. I got a response within 4 business days, and they were able to identify and fix the issue. Payment came through 2 days after that. It's frustrating that the system doesn't give clearer status updates, but don't give up! Also, make sure to keep checking your UI Online account daily - sometimes there are requests for additional documents that don't trigger email notifications. Good luck! 🍀

This is so helpful, thank you! I had no idea about the identity verification issue potentially causing delays without clear notification. I'm definitely going to submit a contact form through the "Ask EDD" option you mentioned. It's crazy that the system doesn't give better status updates - like, how hard would it be to show "pending identity verification" or something? Really appreciate you sharing your experience and the step-by-step of what worked! 🙏
