No response from FMLA after weeks - job protection at risk. Help!

Has anyone else been waiting forever for a response about their FMLA application? I submitted mine weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. It's so frustrating! I'm worried about losing my job protection if this drags on much longer. Any advice on how to get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel you. I waited almost 2 months before I heard anything back about my FMLA claim. The whole system is a mess rn šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

2 months?! That's insane. Did you try calling them or anything?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

It did for me! Got through in about an hour when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

I get it, but for me it was worth the $20 to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money ya know?

Have you tried faxing your application? Sometimes that gets faster results than submitting online or by mail.

Pro tip: keep a detailed log of all your attempts to contact them (dates, times, who you spoke to if anyone). It'll help if you need to escalate your case later.

I work in HR and deal with FMLA stuff alot. Here's what I recommend: ā€¢ Double-check that your employer submitted their part of the paperwork. Sometimes that's the holdup. ā€¢ If you haven't already, get your doctor to submit the medical certification ASAP. ā€¢ Try contacting your state's Department of Labor for help. ā€¢ Consider reaching out to your local congressperson's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. ā€¢ Keep using your company's call-out procedures even while waiting for FMLA approval to protect yourself. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails end up there. Also, make sure the contact info on your application is correct.
