Need EDD PFL computation letter ASAP for work - any tips to get it quickly?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need to get my Paid Family Leave computation letter from EDD to submit to my company. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips on how to request it and get it sent quickly? I'm worried about missing deadlines at work.

I went through this last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call EDD first thing in the morning (like 8:01 AM) 2. Have your claim number ready 3. Politely ask for the computation letter, explaining you need it for your employer 4. Request that they include start and end dates of your benefits 5. Ask if they can expedite it or send it electronically Be prepared to wait on hold for a while, but it's worth it. Good luck!

•This is solid advice 💯 I'd add: make sure u have a pen and paper ready to jot down any important info they give u!

•Calling first thing in the morning is key. I tried midday once and gave up after 2 hours on hold 😫

•Thanks for the detailed advice! Did they give you an estimate of how long it would take to receive the letter?

•When I called, they said 7-10 business days, but I actually got it in about 5. YMMV tho

•I don't think so... their online system is stuck in the stone age 🦕 Phone is unfortunately the only way AFAIK

Pro tip: I found a way to get someone on the phone without the endless hold times. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can confirm, I used it last month. Felt like cheating the system but in a good way lol

have you tried faxing your request? sometimes old school methods work better with government agencies lol

LPT: If you cant get through on the main line, try calling one of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works for me!

•I've had luck with the general information line or even the employer line. Just play dumb if they ask why youre calling that number lol

•Isn't that kinda unethical tho? Taking up a Spanish-speaking line when you don't need it?
