Pro tip: if you can, try to find out the name of the person handling your claim. Makes follow-up calls way easier.
Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' documents? Make copies of EVERYTHING you send them. Trust me on this one.
Here's what worked for me when I had this issue: 1. Double-check the email address on file with EDD. Make sure it's correct and you have access to it. 2. Check all email folders, including spam/junk. 3. If that doesn't work, try to reset your password through the website. 4. If you still don't receive an email, call EDD customer service. 5. Be prepared with your personal info (SSN, address, etc.) when you call. 6. Ask them to verify your email address and resend the password reset link. 7. If all else fails, ask if there's an alternative way to reset your account or if you can create a new one. Hope this helps! The system can be a pain, but don't give up. You'll get it sorted eventually.
I'm convinced they're deliberately slowing things down to discourage people from claiming. It's all a big scam 😡

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of the other departments and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works!

I'm convinced they're purposely making it difficult to discourage people from claiming benefits. It's all a conspiracy, man! 🕵️♂️

•Take off the tinfoil hat, bro. It's just good old-fashioned government inefficiency. 🙄
