Pro tip: if you can, try to find out the name of the person handling your claim. Makes follow-up calls way easier.
Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' documents? Make copies of EVERYTHING you send them. Trust me on this one.
omg yes! i had to send my birth certificate THREE TIMES. like, how do you lose that?!
Seriously! I started taking pictures of the envelopes before I mail them now. Paranoid? Maybe. But it's saved my butt more than once.
anyone else think its crazy we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get what we're entitled to? the system is broken af π€
Preach! π It's like they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits.
It's a feature, not a bug. They're hoping people will just give up.
Not to be that guy, but have you tried, ya know, googling it? π€ Sometimes you can find PDFs of these forms floating around on other sites.
Yeah, I tried that first actually. Only found sample forms, nothing official I could submit. Thanks tho!
Congrats on the new addition to your family! πΆ Don't let the EDD stress you out too much. You'll get it sorted eventually. Enjoy those baby snuggles!
Aww thanks! Trying to stay positive through all this. The baby makes it worth it π
Guys, I'm freaking out. I'm about to miss my rent payment because of this delay. Any ideas for emergency assistance while we wait?
Check with local charities or churches. Some offer temporary rent assistance. Also, talk to your landlord ASAP. They might be willing to work with you if you explain the situation.
Plot twist: what if we all show up at their office with sleeping bags and camp out until they process our claims? Who's in? βΊοΈπ
I'm down! We can call it Occupy EDD lol
Knowing them, they'd probably just form a committee to study the campout for 6 months before taking any action π€¦ββοΈ

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard some people say it's faster than mailing or uploading online.
