EDD PFL Claim Stuck in Conflict Loop - Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating time with my Paid Family Leave claim. I keep getting these weird conflict notifications and it's like I'm starting from scratch every single time. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's been weeks and I still haven't made any progress. I'm starting to worry about how I'm gonna pay my bills. Any advice would be super appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! The EDD system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue with my claim - kept getting error messages and couldn't move forward. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call for days but can never get through 😭 It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59am. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I was skeptical too, but it actually worked for me. After weeks of trying to get through, I figured $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait once they connected you?

It took about an hour total, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than sitting on hold myself!

Have you checked your online account for any updates or messages? Sometimes they send important info there that doesn't come through email or regular mail.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that was causing conflicts with certain types of claims. It took forever, but I finally got it sorted out by speaking with a supervisor. Don't give up! Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates and times. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Ask to speak with a supervisor or claims specialist if the regular rep can't help. 4. Check if there are any local EDD offices you can visit in person. Sometimes face-to-face works better. 5. Reach out to your local state representative. They often have contacts at EDD who can help push things through. Hang in there! It's a broken system, but you'll get through it eventually.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start keeping better records. Did you have any luck with contacting your state rep?

Yes, actually! My assemblymember's office was super helpful. They have a staff member dedicated to EDD issues. Took about 2 weeks, but they got things moving for me.

I'm dealing with the exact same issue rn! It's so annoying. I've been trying to get this sorted for over a month now. Let me know if you find a solution!

Have you considered reaching out to a legal aid organization? Some offer free consultations for EDD issues. They might be able to help you navigate the system or even advocate on your behalf.

I hadn't thought of that! Do you know any good ones in California?

Check out Legal Aid at Work or your local Bar Association. They often have resources or can point you in the right direction.

Hey, former EDD employee here. The conflict notification usually means there's an issue with overlapping claim periods or inconsistent information. It's a pain, but you need to talk to someone to clear it up. Try calling first thing in the morning or right before they close - those are usually the best times to get through.

Thank you so much for the insider info! I'll definitely try calling at those times. Is there anything specific I should mention to the rep to help resolve the conflict?

Ask them to review your claim for any overlapping periods or data inconsistencies. Sometimes it's as simple as a typo in a date. Also, have all your documents ready - paystubs, any letters from EDD, etc. The more info you can provide, the easier it'll be for them to sort it out.
