How to add documents to EDD application after submission?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I submitted my online application before I had all the required documents ready. I thought I'd be able to upload them later, but now my application is already submitted. Has anyone else dealt with this? How can I add the missing documents now? Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, been there done that. The system is so frustrating! I had the same issue last year. You'll probably need to call them to add the documents to your existing application. Good luck getting through tho, their phone lines are always jammed.

Yep, calling is your best bet. But be prepared to wait on hold forEVER. I swear I grew a beard waiting last time 🧔

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to make a phone call? That's highway robbery! 🤑

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny IMO. And yeah, it's legit - I've used it twice now.

Pro tip: Sometimes you can fax in additional documents. Check their website for a fax number. It's like time traveling back to 1995, but it might work! 📠

Have you tried logging back into your account? Sometimes there's an option to add documents even after submission. It's hidden in the menus tho, so you gotta dig around.

I looked everywhere in my account but couldn't find anything like that. Maybe they changed the system recently? 🤔

Ah bummer. Yeah, they're always "updating" things. Usually makes it worse tbh 🙄

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call the main customer service line 2. Press 2 for existing claims 3. Then press 4 for document issues 4. You'll probably be on hold for a while 5. When you get an agent, explain your situation 6. They can usually add a note to your file and give you a special link or email to submit the missing docs I've been through this rodeo before. It's a pain, but this method worked for me. Just be patient and persistent! Also, pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You'll have a better chance of getting through quickly.

For real. We pay into this system our whole working lives, but when we need it, it's nothing but obstacles.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through or at least get you in touch with the right person.

Whatever you do, don't give up! Keep calling, keep trying. It took me weeks to sort out a similar issue, but I finally got it resolved. You got this! 💪

Thanks for the encouragement! It's easy to feel defeated by the bureaucracy, but I'll keep at it.

I just went through this exact same situation last month! Here's what worked for me: I sent an email to the EDD document review team with my case number in the subject line. They responded within 3 business days with instructions on how to submit the missing docs through a secure portal. Way easier than calling and waiting on hold forever. The email address is on their website under "Contact Us" - look for "Document Submission Issues." Hope this helps!

This is exactly what I was hoping to find! Email sounds way better than sitting on hold for hours. Did they give you a specific timeline for processing once you submitted through their portal? I'm worried about delays affecting my claim.
