FMLA claim pending for 2+ months, no payments received. What can I do?
My FMLA claim has been pending for over 2 months now and I haven't received any payments. I'm not sure why it hasn't been processed yet. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? What should I do to get this resolved?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating. How long did it take for your claim to get processed?

•It took about 3 months for mine to finally go through. Keep trying to call, and maybe try reaching out to your local representative. They can sometimes help speed things up.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 2. Send a written request for an update on your claim status. 3. Contact your HR department to see if they can help. 4. Reach out to your state's Department of Labor for assistance. 5. Consider contacting your local elected officials. Don't give up! It's your right to receive these benefits.

•This is great advice. I'd also add: check if there's an online portal where you can view your claim status. Sometimes there's additional info there.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get it, but when you're desperate for answers, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do 🤷♀️

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck. Keep calling and escalate to a supervisor if you can. Good luck!

•Oh no, I hope that's not what happened to mine. How did you find out about the glitch?

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on Facebook can get a faster response. Worth a shot! 🤷♂️

I'm going through the exact same thing right now - 10 weeks and counting with no payments. It's absolutely ridiculous how broken this system is. I've tried everything mentioned here: calling (never get through), checking online portal (just says "pending"), even sent written requests. The stress of not knowing when/if you'll get paid while dealing with family issues is just brutal. Has anyone had luck with filing a complaint with the state ombudsman? I'm at my wit's end here.

•I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too! 10 weeks is absolutely unacceptable. I haven't tried the state ombudsman yet, but that's a really good idea - I'm going to look into that option. This whole situation is so stressful when you're already dealing with family stuff and need the financial support. Have you considered reaching out to any local news stations? Sometimes media attention can light a fire under these agencies. Hang in there - we shouldn't have to fight this hard for benefits we're entitled to! 💪
