EDD claim still pending, no payment received. How long did yours take?

Hey everyone, I'm really frustrated. My unemployment claim is still pending and I haven't received any payment yet. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for your claim to be processed? I'm starting to worry about bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat a few months ago. Have you checked if there are any missing documents or identity verification issues? That's what held mine up for weeks.

Thanks for the tip. I'll double-check my account to see if there's anything missing. How long did it take for yours to get resolved once you figured out the issue?

It took about 2 weeks after I uploaded the missing docs. But I've heard it can vary. Hang in there!

2 weeks? You got lucky! Mine took over a month even after I sent everything in. The system is so backed up rn 😫

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I know it sounds crazy, but it really worked for me. I was skeptical too, but after weeks of not getting through, it was worth it. The $20 was nothing compared to finally getting my claim sorted.

How long did you have to wait once the call was transferred to you? I'm considering trying this but worried I'll still end up waiting forever.

It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to actively wait on hold. The service called me when an agent was ready. Way better than wasting a whole day redialing!

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD. It's worth a shot!

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Always check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. Make sure all your information is up to date, especially your contact details. 3. If you have any changes in your employment status, report them immediately. 4. Keep detailed records of all your job search activities. 5. If your claim is pending for more than 3 weeks, start calling persistently. 6. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member or state senator for help. 7. Join Facebook groups or forums dedicated to EDD issues - sometimes you can get good tips there. 8. If all else fails, file an appeal. It's a hassle, but it can sometimes kickstart the process. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start working through this list. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

This should be pinned at the top of the subreddit tbh. So helpful!

100% 💯 They hope we'll just go away if they make it hard enough

Nah, I think they're just overwhelmed and underfunded. Still sucks for us tho

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you can catch a break in the queue.
