EDD asking about sick leave, pay, and employment details - help needed!
Hey everyone, I just got an email from EDD asking me some questions about my claim. They want to know about my sick leave period, how much I got paid, my normal work hours, and if I'm a 10 or 12 month employee. I'm not sure how to answer all this stuff correctly. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any advice on how to respond without messing up my claim?

I've been through this before. Here's a template you can use to respond: Subject: Response to Information Request for Claim Update Dear EDD, 1. Sick Leave Period: [Start Date] to [End Date] 2. Gross Amount of Sick Leave Received: $[Amount] 3. Normal Weekly Work Hours: [Hours] hours 4. Hourly Rate of Pay: $[Rate] 5. Employment Term: I am a [10/12]-month employee. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else.

•Quick question - do we need to include any supporting documents with this response?

•{profile 3} Not usually, but it's always good to have pay stubs or HR docs ready just in case they ask for proof later.

Make sure you double check all your numbers before sending! I messed up my hours once and it took forever to fix 😫

Anyone else feel like they're drowning in paperwork? 🌊📄 I swear I spend more time filling out forms than actually recovering lol

•Pro tip: keep a folder with all ur pay stubs, dr notes, and claim info. Makes it way easier when they ask for stuff

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. •Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•{profile 12} Yep, totally legit! I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

•{profile 13} I get it, but think about how much time you waste on hold. For me, $20 was worth not losing a whole day waiting

Does anyone know if the 10/12 month thing matters for disability claims? I'm a teacher and I'm not sure which one applies to me 🤔

•It can affect your benefit calculation. 10-month usually means you don't work summers, 12-month is year-round. Check with your HR to be sure!

PSA: Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send to EDD. You never know when you'll need to reference it later!

Thanks for posting this @Evelyn! I'm actually going through something similar right now. The template from @Benjamin is super helpful - I'm definitely going to use that format. One thing I'd add is make sure you have your pay stubs handy when you fill this out, especially for the gross sick leave amount. Sometimes what you think you remember and what's actually on paper can be different! Good luck with your claim 🤞
