EDD Family Leave Payment Missing 3/12-3/21 - What to Do?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my family leave payments. I applied online through the EDD website, but I haven't received any pay from 3/12 to 3/21. They told me the 21st was my last day to get a payment. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. EDD is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've been trying to call all week, but no luck. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. Set an alarm and start dialing at 7:59 AM. Sometimes you can get through before the lines get jammed.

Good idea! I'll try that tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It worked for me and saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free 🙄

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through on my own.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes there are messages or requests for additional info that can hold up your payments.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my claim got stuck in processing. I had to file an appeal to get it sorted out. It took a while, but I eventually got my backpay.

Oh no, I hope I don't have to go through all that. How long did the appeal process take?

It took about 6 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Just make sure you keep all your documentation!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending tasks or messages. 2. If there's nothing there, try to contact EDD through their online messaging system. 3. If that doesn't work, you'll need to call. Keep trying different numbers and times of day. 4. If you still can't get through, consider using a paid service like Claimyr to get a callback. 5. As a last resort, contact your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. Remember to document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what they said. This will be helpful if you need to escalate your case. Good luck! The system is frustrating, but don't give up. You're entitled to those benefits.

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes that gets faster results than online submissions.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not equipped to handle modern workforce needs.

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.
