Can't find 1099-G on EDD website - help needed for tax filing!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble finding my 1099-G form on the EDD website. I need it for my taxes and I'm not sure where to look. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to get a copy? Any help would be appreciated!

Ugh, I had the same issue last year. It's so frustrating when you can't find important tax documents! Have you tried logging into your EDD account and checking under the 'Forms' or 'Documents' section? Sometimes they hide these things in weird places.

Yeah, I've looked everywhere in my account. No luck so far 😞 Maybe they haven't uploaded it yet?

I heard they sometimes delay uploading those forms. Might be worth waiting a few days and checking again. Good luck!

Pro tip: You can actually request a copy of your 1099-G directly from EDD. Just give them a call and ask for it. They should be able to mail you a physical copy or email you a digital version.

Thanks for the tip! Do you know what number I should call?

I think its the main EDD customer service line. Can't remember the exact number, but you can find it on there website easily.

Good luck getting through on that line tho 🙄 I've been trying for days!

I found a method to get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I got through to an agent in about an hour. Saved me days of frustration.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I wasted way more than $20 worth of time trying to get through on my own.

Here's what you need to do to get your 1099-G form: 1. Log into your EDD account 2. Go to the 'Forms' section 3. Look for '1099G' in the search bar 4. If you can't find it, check the 'Important Information' section on your homepage 5. Still no luck? You can request a copy by phone or mail To request by phone: - Call 1-866-333-4606 - Select option 1 for English - Enter your Social Security number - Select option 1 to request a 1099-G copy To request by mail: - Send a written request to: Employment Development Department PO Box 826880, MIC 28 Sacramento, CA 94280-0001 Make sure to include your full name, mailing address, Social Security number, and the tax year you need the form for. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get a simple tax form? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the stone age or something

For real tho. In 2023 this should all be automated and easy to access online. Get with the times, EDD!

Quick question - does anyone know if there's a deadline for when EDD has to make these forms available? I'm wondering if I should be worried that I can't find mine yet.

@Max Knight I believe EDD is required to have 1099-G forms available by January 31st each year, just like other employers with W-2s. If you still can t'find yours after that date, definitely reach out to them directly. Don t'stress too much though - you still have until the tax filing deadline to get it sorted!

LPT: Always save a copy of your 1099-G as soon as you get it. I learned this the hard way last year when I couldn't access the EDD website during tax season. Now I keep digital copies of all my tax docs in a secure cloud storage.

That's a great idea! I'll definitely start doing that once I finally get my hands on this form.
