Where to find my ESD 1099-G form for tax filing in 2025?

I need to file my taxes soon and realized I need the 1099-G form from ESD since I collected unemployment for about 7 weeks last fall. This is my first time dealing with this - where exactly do I find this form? I've logged into eServices but I'm not seeing anything obvious about tax forms. Do they mail it or is it only available online? And if it's online, which section of my account should I be looking in? I'd appreciate any help because my tax appointment is coming up next week!

The 1099-G forms are available electronically in your eServices account. Log in to your account, and on the main dashboard you should see a section labeled "1099-G Tax Information" or something similar. If you don't see it on the dashboard, look for a tab or link that says "Tax Information" or "1099-G". They typically make these available by January 31st each year for the previous year's benefits. If you can't find it online, you can call ESD and request they mail you a paper copy.

Thanks for the quick response! I checked again and found it under the "More" dropdown menu which I totally missed before. Would've been nice if they made it more visible this time of year. Appreciate the help!

I checked my mail - nothing yet. I'm glad I found it online though! Would have been stressing if I had to wait for the mail version.

I spent THREE HOURS looking for this stupid form last year!!! ESD's website is THE WORST designed thing I've ever seen. Why can't they put important tax stuff right on the main page?? I ended up having to call them and spent 2 days trying to get through. When I finally did they told me it was "right there on my account" but I had to click through like 4 different menus to find it. RIDICULOUS!

If you need help reaching ESD by phone (which you might if the online form isn't available for some reason or has incorrect information), I'd recommend using Claimyr. I was trying to get a corrected 1099-G last year and couldn't get through on the regular phone line. Claimyr got me connected to an actual agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days calling. You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. The website is claimyr.com - it basically holds your place in line so you don't have to keep redialing.

Thanks for the tip! I was able to find my form online, but I'll keep this in mind if I run into any issues with the information on it.

Make sure you double-check the amount on your 1099-G form against your own records! My 1099-G last year showed about $1,800 more than I actually received and it caused a huge headache with my taxes. Had to file an amendment and everything. ESD made some kind of calculation error and it took months to resolve.

Oh wow, that's concerning. I'll definitely verify the amount. Do you know if there's a way to see a breakdown of all payments they sent me somewhere in the account?

Yes, you can find your payment history in eServices too. Go to your claim summary and look for "Payment History" or "View Payments." This will show a list of all payments made to you, which you can total up and compare to your 1099-G amount. If there's a discrepancy, contact ESD immediately to request a correction before filing your taxes.

My tax guy told me that ESD doesnt always include the tax they withheld on the 1099 so make sure you check that too. I think its box 4 or something. Its easy to miss but makes a big difference when you do your taxes!

last year my neighbor couldn't find his 1099 and ESD told him that if you don't request paper copies they only keep them online for like 3 years or something so if you need older ones you have to specifically request them... just fyi for anyone reading who might need older forms

That's correct. ESD typically keeps 1099-G forms available online for 3 years. If you need forms from prior years, you'll need to submit a specific request to ESD. You can do this by calling their tax department directly or submitting a request through your eServices account messaging center. Make sure to specify which tax year you need.
