SDI claim issues: How to add January wages & respond to employer info request on CASDI?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my SDI claim. I recently got a request for employer information, but I'm not sure which employer they're asking about. Also, I need to add some wages from early January. Does anyone know how to do this? I think I need to use the messenger in CASDI, but I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be appreciated!

Ugh, the EDD system is such a mess! I had a similar issue last year. For the employer info, they're probably asking about your most recent employer. As for adding wages, you'll need to use the DE 4581 form. You can usually find it in the CASDI portal under 'Forms' or something like that. Good luck navigating that nightmare! 🙄

•Yep, DE 4581 is the way to go. Make sure you fill it out carefully tho, one mistake and theyll send it back 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•$20?? That's highway robbery! The government should make it easier to reach them without paying extra 😡

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•Can confirm, I used it too. Felt weird paying but man, it was such a relief to finally talk to someone!

Pro tip: Always keep copies of EVERYTHING. I learned this the hard way. Take screenshots, save emails, write down who you talked to and when. The EDD is notorious for 'losing' info.

have you tried calling them??? sometimes its easier to just talk to a human being instead of messing with all these forms and online stuff

•Calling is useless. I got through once after 2 hours on hold, and they couldn't even help me. What a joke 🤡

Here's what you need to do: 1. Log into your CASDI account 2. Go to 'Forms and Documents' 3. Look for DE 4581 (Wage Addition/Correction Form) 4. Download and fill it out carefully 5. Upload it back through the CASDI messenger For the employer info request, check your inbox in CASDI. There should be a message specifying which employer they're asking about. If not, assume it's your most recent one. If you're still unsure, try to get someone on the phone. Yes, it's a pain, but sometimes it's necessary. Be persistent! Also, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Save confirmation numbers, take screenshots, note down who you talked to and when. It'll save you headaches later. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it. 💪

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the entire unemployment/disability system? It's 2023 and we're still dealing with this archaic mess 🤦♂️

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're stuck in the stone age. How hard is it to make a user-friendly system?

Hey OP, just a heads up - sometimes they ask for info from multiple employers, especially if you had more than one job in the past 18 months. Double check all your messages to be sure!

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and I ended up going to my local EDD office in person. The wait was long, but I got everything sorted in one go. Might be worth a shot if you're really stuck.

•This! In-person is underrated. Sometimes you gotta do it old school 👴
