SDI claim: Got 'call in notice' after chiropractor visit - what to expect?

I just got a notice to call in about my SDI claim. I went to the chiropractor about a month ago and they submitted the claim for me. Now I got this email saying I need to call in to discuss my claim. Not sure what they want or need from me. Anyone else been through this? What should I expect when I call?

Ugh, been there done that. They probably need more info or docs. When you call, mention your chiro visit and ask if they need anything specific. Might want to have your medical records handy just in case.

Thanks for the tip! I'll dig up my records before I call. Any idea how long the wait times are these days?

Last time I called, I was on hold for like 2 hours 😫 Bring a book or something to keep you busy lol

2 hours? You got lucky! I've been trying to get through for days. It's ridiculous 🤬

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what you need to know about SDI claims and chiropractor visits: • SDI often requires more documentation for chiropractic care • They might ask for treatment plans or progress notes • Be prepared to explain how the treatment relates to your disability • Have your chiropractor's contact info ready • If they deny the claim, you have the right to appeal Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, this is super helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out. I feel much more prepared now.

Great info! Wish I had known this when I filed my claim last year. Would've saved me so much hassle.

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's like they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people from claiming.

Totally agree. We pay into this system, it should work for us, not against us.

Quick tip: keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what was said. It'll save you a headache later if theres any confusion or disputes.

Anyone else notice that SDI seems to be extra picky about chiro claims lately? I had to appeal twice before they finally approved mine. Stay persistent!

Same here! I think they're trying to crack down on fraud or something, but it's making it harder for legit claims too.

Oof, that sucks. How long did the appeal process take for you?

It took about 3 months total. Not gonna lie, it was a pain in the ass. But worth it in the end.

Pro tip: if you cant get through on the phone, try reaching out on social media. Sometimes their Twitter team is more responsive than the phone lines.

Hey Isabella! I went through something similar last month. The call-in notice usually means they need clarification on your treatment or want to verify some details. When I called, they asked about my treatment frequency, if the chiro visit was related to my original disability, and wanted me to confirm some dates. The actual call only took about 15 minutes once I got through. Just be honest and straightforward - they're usually pretty reasonable. Good luck! šŸ¤ž

Thanks Eduardo! That's really reassuring to hear it was only 15 minutes once you got through. I was worried they were going to grill me for hours or something. Did they ask for any additional documentation during the call, or was it just verbal questions?

That's super helpful Eduardo! 15 minutes doesn't sound too bad at all. I was picturing some intense interrogation šŸ˜… Did they end up approving everything after that call, or did you have to submit additional paperwork?
