SDI Recertification: How to confirm form received & filled out correctly?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to recertify for my SDI benefits and I'm not sure if I did it right. I submitted the form but now I'm worried it might not have been received or filled out correctly. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips on how to make sure it was done right and actually got to them? I really need these benefits extended and don't want to mess it up.

I just went through this last month! Here's what I learned: • Call the SDI office ASAP to confirm they received your form • Ask them to review it with you over the phone to check for errors • Get the name of who you spoke with and a reference number for the call • If possible, request an email confirmation of receipt Don't wait around hoping it went through correctly. Being proactive saved me a ton of stress. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely call them tomorrow. Did you have to wait on hold for a long time?

Ugh, the hold times are brutal. I was on hold for over 2 hours. Bring a book or something to keep you busy while you wait!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. Way shorter wait times!

Ive been trying to get through to SDI for weeks now. its impossible to reach a real person. anyone else having this problem?

Same here. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits. 🙄

Guys, I found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

sounds to good to be true. has anyone else tried this?

I was skeptical too, but it really worked for me. Saved me a whole day of being on hold. Worth every penny imo

lol good luck. the system is so broken. i submitted my form 3 months ago and still havent heard anything back. 🤡

Have you tried faxing your form? Sometimes that's faster than mailing or submitting online. Just make sure to keep the confirmation page!

I didn't even know faxing was still a thing! 😂 But I'll give it a shot if it might help. Thanks for the tip!

Anybody know if theres a way to check the status of your recertification online? I swear I saw something about that but now I cant find it anywhere on there website.

Yeah, you can check online! Log into your SDI account, go to 'Claim Status', and there should be a section for recertification status. Hope this helps!

You're a lifesaver! 🙏 I'll check that out right now.

Pro tip: Take screenshots of EVERYTHING. Every form you submit, every confirmation page, every email. You never know when you'll need to prove you did something on time.

This. 💯 Saved my butt when they tried to say I never submitted my initial claim.

Anyone else feel like they need a law degree just to understand these forms? 🤔 I swear they make them confusing on purpose.

Hey OP, don't forget to double check that you signed and dated everything! I made that rookie mistake and it delayed my benefits for weeks. 😭

Omg thank you for reminding me! I'll definitely double check that.

Just want to echo what everyone else is saying about documentation! I learned this the hard way - keep copies of everything and consider sending your recertification form via certified mail if you go the postal route. That way you have proof of delivery with a tracking number. Also, if you submitted online, check your email for any confirmation messages - sometimes they go to spam. The waiting is the worst part, but hang in there! 🤞

This is such great advice! I'm new here and going through my first SDI recertification - it's honestly overwhelming but reading everyone's tips is really helping. The certified mail idea is brilliant, wish I had thought of that before I submitted mine online. Now I'm paranoid it got lost in cyberspace somewhere! 😅 Thanks for sharing your experience, it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one who finds this process stressful.

@StarStrider Welcome to the community! Don't worry, we've all been there with the stress and confusion. Since you submitted online, definitely check your email (including spam folder) for any confirmation. You can also try logging into your SDI online account to see if there's any status update. If you can't find anything, don't hesitate to call - even with the long wait times, it's worth it for peace of mind. We're all here to help each other navigate this crazy system! 💪
