Accidentally marked 'yes' for work pay on SDI form when not getting paid - How to fix?
Hey everyone, I messed up on my SDI form and I'm freaking out. I accidentally put that I was getting paid by my work when I'm actually not. Now I'm worried this is gonna mess up my benefits. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? What should I do to fix it?

Oof, that's a tough spot. Don't panic though, mistakes happen! Here's what you should do: 1. Gather any docs that show your current work status and pay situation 2. Call SDI ASAP and explain the mistake 3. Ask them how to correct the info on your form 4. Follow their instructions carefully 5. Keep records of everything - who you talked to, when, and what they said Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

•This is solid advice. I had a similar issue last year and following steps like these saved my butt. Just be patient and persistent!

•Good list, but good luck actually getting through to someone at SDI 🙄 Their phone lines are always jammed

•Nah, it's not on purpose. They're just understaffed and overworked. Cut them some slack.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at SDI. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo.

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for 3+ hours was totally worth it.

Have you tried updating your info online? Sometimes you can make changes without calling.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open. Also, Wednesdays seem to be less busy for some reason.

Don't stress too much about this! I made a similar error on my SDI paperwork a few months back. The key is to act quickly and be honest about the mistake. You can also try submitting a written correction through their online portal if calling doesn't work out - sometimes that's actually faster than trying to get someone on the phone. Document everything you submit so you have a paper trail. The SDI folks deal with these kinds of clerical errors all the time, so they should be able to help you sort it out without too much drama.
