Need help getting DE 2525XX form sent to SDI online account for benefit extension

Hey everyone, I need some help extending my SDI benefits. I've been told I need to get the DE 2525XX form sent to my SDI online account inbox. Has anyone gone through this process before? Any tips on how to make sure it gets done quickly? I'm getting a bit anxious about the whole thing.

I found a way to solve getting DE 2525XX form quickly, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mawQgpyBPLU

I've been through this before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call the EDD office directly. Make sure you have your account number and claim ID ready. 2. Ask specifically for the DE 2525XX form to be sent to your SDI online account inbox. 3. Be polite but persistent. Sometimes they might try to send it elsewhere, so make sure they understand you need it in your online inbox. 4. If possible, get the name of the person you spoke with and a confirmation number for the request. 5. Follow up in a few days if you don't see it in your inbox. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! This is really helpful. Do you remember how long it took for the form to show up in your inbox after you called?

No problem! In my case, it took about 3 business days. But I've heard it can vary. If you don't see it after a week, definitely call again.

This is great advice! I'd add one thing: take notes during the call. Write down everything they tell you. It's come in handy for me before when there were mix-ups.

ugh, good luck. i've been trying to get through to them for weeks. its like they dont want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

I feel you. The system is so broken. Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that can help.

yeah, i've tried everything. early morning, late afternoon, even tried different days of the week. no luck so far 😫

Hang in there! It's frustrating but keep trying. Took me almost a month to get through, but I finally did. Don't give up!

Quick question - are you sure you need the DE 2525XX form? When I extended my SDI, they sent me a different form. Might be worth double-checking that's the right one for your situation.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? $20 seems steep but I guess it's worth it if it saves hours of frustration.

Yeah, it really does work! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after trying for weeks. It connected me in about 30 minutes. Definitely worth the $20 for me.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency we fund with our taxes? Seems kinda messed up. 🤔

I get where you're coming from, but for me, time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste hours on hold. Plus, it's not like the money goes to EDD - it's for the service that does the waiting for you.

Have you tried faxing your request? Sometimes old school methods work better with these government agencies lol

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I didn't even think of that. Do you know if they have a fax number for these requests?

Haha, I know right? But yeah, they do have a fax number. It's on their website somewhere. I'll try to find it and post it here later.

Just a heads up, make sure your healthcare provider is ready to fill out the form quickly once you get it. Mine took forever and it almost messed up my extension. 😓

@Dmitry Popov I just went through this exact same process last month! A few additional tips that helped me: 1) When you call, ask them to email you a confirmation that they've processed your request - some reps will do this if you ask nicely. 2) Make sure your SDI online account contact info is up to date before calling. 3) If the first rep says they can't help, politely ask to speak with someone else or call back later - different reps sometimes have different capabilities. The whole process was stressful for me too, but once I got the right person on the phone it was actually pretty straightforward. Good luck! 🤞

Thanks for the detailed tips! The email confirmation idea is brilliant - I never would have thought to ask for that. Quick question: when you say "different reps have different capabilities," do you mean some can send the form to your online account while others can't? Or is it more about their willingness to help?

This is such helpful advice! I'm actually dealing with a similar situation right now and the email confirmation tip is genius. @Nia Harris did you have any issues with your form showing up correctly in your online inbox, or did it work smoothly once they sent it? I m'worried about technical glitches on their end.

@Nia Harris This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I m'dealing with the same situation right now and feeling pretty overwhelmed. The tip about asking for email confirmation is something I definitely wouldn t'have thought of. Did you find that certain times of day were better for getting through to someone who could actually help? I ve'been calling randomly throughout the day but wondering if there s'a strategy to it.

Hey @Dmitry Popov! I just went through this exact same situation a few months ago and totally understand the anxiety. Here's what worked for me: I called the SDI line at 8am sharp when they opened (1-800-480-3287) and had my claim number, social security number, and a pen ready. When I got through, I specifically said "I need the DE 2525XX continuation form sent to my SDI online account inbox for my benefit extension." The rep was able to do it right away and gave me a confirmation number. It showed up in my online inbox within 2 business days. One thing I learned - if they offer to mail it instead, politely decline and emphasize you need it in your online account. Good luck, you've got this! 💪

@Austin Leonard This is exactly the kind of detailed, step-by-step help I was looking for! Thank you so much for breaking it down like that. I really appreciate you including the specific phone number and what to say - that takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. The confirmation number tip is great too. I m'going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning with everything you mentioned ready to go. It s'so reassuring to hear from someone who actually got it done successfully. Did you have to follow up at all, or did it really show up in 2 days like they said?

I just went through this process about 6 weeks ago and it was definitely stressful at first, but totally manageable once I figured out the system. Here's what I wish someone had told me upfront: 1. Call early (8-8:30am) but if you can't get through, try again around 2-3pm - I found those times had shorter hold times 2. Have your claim number AND your SDI account login info ready - they might ask you to verify details from your online account 3. Be very specific: "I need form DE 2525XX sent to my SDI online account MESSAGE INBOX" (not just "online account" - say "message inbox") 4. Ask for the processing timeline upfront - they should be able to tell you 2-5 business days 5. Screenshot or write down the confirmation details they give you The anxiety is totally normal - I was worried about my benefits getting interrupted too. But once you get that form and submit it, the extension process is pretty straightforward. You've got this! Let us know how it goes 👍

This is incredibly helpful! I'm new to dealing with SDI but going through a similar situation right now. The tip about being specific with "message inbox" is something I wouldn't have known to say. @Yuki Tanaka when you mention the 2-3pm timeframe having shorter hold times, is that pretty consistent or did you just get lucky that day? I m'trying to plan out my calling strategy and wondering if it s'worth trying multiple times throughout the day. Also, did your form actually arrive within that 2-5 business day window they gave you?
