How to request DE 2525XX form from EDD? Need help ASAP!

Hey everyone, I need some help with the DE 2525XX form. I'm trying to get it mailed to me but I'm not sure how to go about it. Has anyone gone through this process before? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve DE 2525XX form request issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCsol9suKVE

I went through this last year. You need to call EDD directly and request the form. Be prepared to wait on hold for a while tho, their phone lines are always jammed šŸ™„

0 coins

ugh, tell me about it. I spent 3 hours on hold last week just to get disconnected 😤

0 coins

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in like 20 mins doing that!

Good idea! I'll try that next time. Thx for the tip šŸ‘

I found a way to get someone on the phone without the wait. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

idk man, paying to get through seems sketchy. EDD should fix their system instead šŸ¤”

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they garuantee you'll get through?

0 coins

Sure! Basically, you choose the EDD line you need to call, pay the fee, and their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls your phone and connects you. They don't guarantee it'll work every time, but if it doesn't, you can try again for free.

Here's what you need to know about the DE 2525XX form: • It's the Continued Claim Form for disability insurance • You should receive it automatically if you're already on disability • If you haven't received it, you can request it online through your SDI account • Alternatively, you can call EDD at 1-800-480-3287 to request it • Make sure to fill it out completely and accurately to avoid delays • Return it promptly, even if you're not sure about some answers - you can always update later • Keep a copy for your records Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed info! I'll try requesting it online first. You're a lifesaver šŸ™

This is great info. Wish I had known this earlier, would've saved me so much hassle!

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous we have to jump through so many hoops just to get a form? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

For real. In 2023, this should all be online. Why are we still dealing with paper forms?

Has anyone tried faxing a request for the form? I heard that sometimes works faster than calling or mailing.

Just a heads up, make sure you're eligible for the DE 2525XX before you request it. I wasted weeks waiting for a form I didn't even qualify for šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Oh no, that sucks! How do I check if I'm eligible?

You can check on the EDD website under the disability insurance section. They have a list of requirements. Better to do that first before you start the whole process!

lol good luck. EDD is a black hole where all logic and efficiency go to die šŸ’€

🤣🤣🤣 sad but true

I just went through this process last month! Here's what worked for me: log into your SDI Online account first - sometimes the form is already available there for download. If not, I called the 1-800-480-3287 number around 8:05 AM (right after they open) and got through in about 15 minutes. The rep was actually really helpful and had the form mailed to me within 3 business days. Just have your case number ready when you call. Good luck! šŸ¤ž

This is super helpful! I didn't even know about the SDI Online account - I'll definitely check that first before calling. Thanks for the specific timing tip too, that's exactly what I needed to know! 😊

Just wanted to add that if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, you can also try visiting a local EDD office in person. I know it's not ideal, but sometimes they can help you request the form right there or give you a paper copy if they have it available. I did this when I was desperate and couldn't get through on the phone after multiple attempts. The wait wasn't too bad and the staff was pretty helpful. Make sure to bring your ID and any relevant paperwork just in case!

That's a really good point! I totally forgot about going in person. Do you happen to know if all EDD offices handle disability forms or just certain locations? I want to make sure I don't waste a trip to the wrong office. Also, did you need an appointment or was it walk-in? Thanks for sharing your experience! šŸ‘

I actually had success requesting the DE 2525XX form through the EDD website's "Contact EDD" feature. You can submit a request online and they usually respond within 5-7 business days. It's not the fastest option, but it saved me from sitting on hold forever. Just go to the EDD website, find the "Contact EDD" section, select "Disability Insurance" as your topic, and explain that you need the DE 2525XX form mailed to you. Make sure to include your full name, SSN, and current address. They'll usually email you back with a confirmation that they're processing your request. Worth a try if the phone lines are too busy!

This is such a great alternative! I had no idea you could request forms through the Contact EDD feature online. That definitely beats sitting on hold for hours. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions too - super helpful to know exactly what info to include. I'm going to try this method first since I'm not in a huge rush. Appreciate you sharing this option! šŸ™Œ

Another option that worked for me recently - you can also request the DE 2525XX form by mailing a written request to EDD. I sent a letter with my full name, SSN, mailing address, and specifically requested the DE 2525XX form. Mailed it to their disability insurance department and got the form back in about 10 business days. Not the fastest method, but it's reliable if you're not comfortable with online requests or can't get through on the phone. Just make sure to keep a copy of your letter and maybe send it certified mail so you have proof they received it. Sometimes the old-school approach actually works! šŸ“¬

That's really smart! I never thought about mailing a written request. It's nice to have a paper trail too. Do you happen to remember the specific mailing address you used for the disability insurance department? I want to make sure I send it to the right place. Also, did you include any other documentation with your letter or just the basic info you mentioned? Thanks for sharing this old-school method! šŸ“

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I'm definitely going to try multiple approaches - starting with checking my SDI Online account first (didn't even know that existed!), then maybe trying the online Contact EDD feature if the form isn't there. The early morning calling tip seems like solid advice too. Really appreciate this community coming together to help each other navigate the EDD maze! šŸ™ Will update once I get my form sorted out.

So glad this thread has been helpful! It's amazing how much easier things get when we share our experiences. Definitely start with the SDI Online account - that's the fastest option if the form is available there. And yes, please do update us on what works for you! It'll help future people who find this thread. Good luck with getting your form! šŸ¤ž

Hey Evelyn! I just went through this exact same situation a few weeks ago. Here's what I learned: definitely start by logging into your SDI Online account first - mine was actually already there waiting for me and I had no idea! If it's not there, I had good luck calling the 1-800-480-3287 number right at 8 AM when they open. Took about 25 minutes to get through but the rep was super helpful. Also, make sure you have your case number handy when you call - it speeds things up a lot. The form arrived in my mailbox about 4 days later. Don't stress too much, you'll get it sorted! Let us know how it goes! 😊

This is exactly the kind of step-by-step guidance I was hoping for! Thank you so much for breaking it down like that. I had no clue about the SDI Online account either - seems like that's a common theme here šŸ˜… Really appreciate the timing tip for calling too, and good to know about having the case number ready. Your experience gives me hope that this won't be as complicated as I was worried it would be. Thanks for taking the time to share all those details! šŸ™

I just want to echo what everyone else is saying about checking your SDI Online account first - that's definitely the easiest route if the form is available there. If not, I'd recommend trying the Contact EDD online feature that @CosmosCaptain mentioned before spending hours on hold. I actually used that method for a different form request and it worked great. The 5-7 business day timeline is pretty accurate in my experience. Also, don't forget to check your spam/junk folder if you submit an online request - sometimes their automated responses end up there. Hope you get this sorted out quickly!

Great point about checking the spam folder! I've definitely missed important emails from government agencies because they ended up in junk mail. It's so helpful to see everyone's different approaches laid out like this - gives you multiple backup plans if one method doesn't work. The SDI Online account seems to be the clear winner for speed if the form is actually there. Thanks for adding that tip about the spam folder, that could save someone a lot of frustration! šŸ‘

I just want to add one more option that hasn't been mentioned yet - if you're really stuck and none of the other methods work, you can also try reaching out to your local state assembly member's office. They often have staff who specialize in helping constituents navigate EDD issues and can sometimes expedite requests or get you connected to the right person. I had to do this for a different EDD issue and they were surprisingly helpful. It might seem like overkill for a form request, but if you're dealing with time-sensitive disability payments, it could be worth a shot. Just another tool in the toolbox! šŸ› ļø

Wow, I had no idea that reaching out to your assembly member's office was even an option for EDD issues! That's such a smart backup plan, especially for time-sensitive situations. It's amazing how many different approaches people have shared in this thread - from online accounts to calling early morning to even mailing written requests. Really shows that there are multiple ways to tackle these bureaucratic challenges. Thanks for sharing this tip! Definitely filing this away as a last resort option if I ever run into serious EDD roadblocks. The more tools in the toolbox, the better! šŸ™Œ

Just wanted to share my recent experience with getting the DE 2525XX form! I was in a similar situation a couple months ago and here's what worked for me: I tried the SDI Online account first like everyone suggests, but the form wasn't available there. So I ended up using the Contact EDD online feature and it took exactly 6 business days to get a response with instructions on how to access the form. What I learned is that sometimes they don't actually mail the physical form anymore - instead they send you a secure link to download and print it yourself. Make sure you have a printer or access to one before you submit the online request! Also, keep checking your email obsessively because the link expires after 30 days. Hope this helps someone else going through the same thing! šŸ“„āœØ

0 coins

This is such valuable info, thanks for sharing! I had no idea they sometimes send secure download links instead of physical forms now. That actually makes way more sense in 2024. The tip about having printer access ready is super practical too - would be so frustrating to get the link and then realize you can't print it! And wow, only 30 days to use the link seems pretty short, but good to know to watch for it. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the whole process! šŸ™

Just wanted to add another tip that helped me recently - if you're having trouble with any of the online methods, try clearing your browser cache and cookies before accessing the SDI Online portal or Contact EDD feature. I was getting weird error messages when trying to log in, and it turned out to be a browser issue. Also, make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome or Firefox work best in my experience). Sometimes the simplest tech fixes can save you hours of frustration! And definitely bookmark this thread - so much good info here from everyone's experiences. This community is awesome! šŸ’Ŗ

0 coins

Such a good tech tip! I always forget about clearing cache and cookies when websites are acting up. Browser compatibility issues with government sites are so common too - they never seem to work properly on Safari for some reason šŸ˜… Definitely bookmarking this thread, there's been so much helpful advice shared here. It's really amazing how everyone came together to help with something that should be simple but EDD makes complicated!

0 coins

Just adding to all the great advice here - I recently discovered that if you're already receiving disability benefits, the DE 2525XX form is also sometimes automatically included with your benefit payment stub or mailed separately around the time your claim period is about to end. I almost went through the whole request process before I realized it was sitting in a stack of mail I hadn't opened yet! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø So maybe check any recent EDD mail you might have received before going through all the request steps. Could save you some time and hassle. But if you don't have it, definitely follow all the excellent advice everyone's shared here - this thread is like a master guide for getting EDD forms!
