Need help finding DE 2525XX form and checking EDD payment status

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my hands on the DE 2525XX form. Anyone know where I can find it? Also, I'm waiting on an update about my payment status. Any tips on how to check that or speed things up?

The DE 2525XX form is for disability claims. You can usually find it on the EDD website under the 'Forms and Publications' section. As for payment updates, have you tried logging into your EDD account? Sometimes the status is there.

Thanks for the info! I've been looking all over the EDD site and couldn't find it. I'll check that section again. And yeah, I've been refreshing my account page like crazy, but no updates yet 😩

Pro tip: call early in the morning, like right when they open. You might have better luck getting through to someone who can help you with both the form and payment status.

Ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare rn. I've been waiting on my payment for weeks! 🤬 Good luck getting any real info from them.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of hold time and I finally got my issue resolved.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was losing more by not getting my benefits sorted out.

Have you tried faxing your request? Sometimes old school methods work better with these government agencies lol

Faxing? What year is it? 😂 But seriously, I might give that a shot if nothing else works. Thanks for the suggestion!

I was in the same boat last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Download the DE 2525XX form from the EDD website (it's under 'Disability Insurance') 2. Fill it out completely - don't leave any fields blank 3. Submit it online if possible, or mail it with tracking 4. Call the EDD every other day for updates (use the trick someone mentioned about calling early) 5. Check your online account daily 6. If you have a disability case worker, try emailing them directly It took about 3 weeks, but I finally got my payment. Hang in there!

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed steps! This is super helpful. I'll definitely follow this plan. Fingers crossed it works for me too! 🤞

This should be pinned or something. Great advice!

anyone else feel like were living in a kafka novel trying to deal with the EDD? 🤔

More like a nightmare 💀 But yeah, it's absurd how complicated they make everything.

I just went through this same process last week! For the DE 2525XX form, I had to dig around a bit but found it under the "State Disability Insurance" section, not just general forms. Make sure you're looking specifically for disability forms. As for payment status, besides checking your online account, you can also call the SDI customer service line at (800) 480-3287 - the wait times are brutal but they can give you real-time updates. Also, if you submitted your claim recently, it typically takes 14 days from when they receive your completed form to process payment. Hope this helps!

This is gold! Thank you for the specific phone number and the tip about looking under "State Disability Insurance" - I was definitely searching in the wrong section. 14 days seems like forever when you're waiting for benefits, but at least now I have a realistic timeline. Really appreciate you sharing your recent experience! 🙏

Just wanted to add my two cents here - I recently had success getting my DE 2525XX form processed faster by making sure I included ALL supporting medical documentation upfront. Don't wait for them to ask for additional paperwork! Also, if you're dealing with a complex disability case, consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They have constituent services that can sometimes help push things through the bureaucratic maze. It's a free service that not many people know about. I got a response within 48 hours after weeks of getting nowhere on my own. Sometimes you need someone with more clout to advocate for you!
