EDD Form 2500A delay & 20+ days since last payment - When will I get paid?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out when I'll be getting my next payment. It's been about 20 days since my last one. I also need to know when Form 2500A will be available for me. Anyone else dealing with this? It's frustrating not knowing when I'll have money coming in.

Ugh, I feel ya. The waiting game is the worst. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes they can give you more specific info about your case.

I've tried calling but keep getting stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

Form 2500A? Is that for disability? I remember having to wait for that too. It should be available online in your account once they process your claim. Keep checking daily!

Yeah, it's for disability. Thanks for the info! I'll keep an eye out for it online.

20 days seems like a long time between payments. Are you on a special payment schedule or something? Most people I know get paid every two weeks.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

It does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo.

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldnt this be free?

I get where youre coming from, but for me, time is money. I'd rather pay $20 than waste a whole day on hold.

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to know about Form 2500A and payment schedules: • Form 2500A is typically available 5-7 business days after your claim is processed • You can check its status in your online account under "Forms and Documents" • Payment schedules vary depending on your claim type (SDI, PFL, etc.) • Standard payment is usually bi-weekly, but can be delayed if there are issues with your claim • If it's been 20 days, there might be a hold on your account Your best bet is to: 1. Check your online account daily 2. Call first thing in the morning (8:00 AM sharp!) 3. Be prepared with your claim number and any relevant dates Hang in there, OP. The system's a mess, but you'll get through it! 💪

20 days?! *laughs in 3 months of waiting* 😭 But seriously, hope you get your payment soon. This system is so broken.

3 months?! That's insane! I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. 😱

Yeah, it's been a nightmare. Living off credit cards at this point. 🙃

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the entire unemployment/disability system? It's 2023 and we're still dealing with forms and long wait times like it's 1980. 🤦‍♂️

Preach! 🙌 The whole thing is held together with duct tape and prayers at this point.

For real. My grandma could design a better system, and she still uses a flip phone. 😂

Hey OP, have you checked if there are any local advocacy groups that can help? Sometimes they have insider knowledge or can escalate issues.

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - going on 18 days without payment and still waiting for my Form 2500A to show up online. The uncertainty is really stressing me out because I have bills coming up. Has anyone had luck with the state assembly member's office? I heard they sometimes help with EDD issues when you're really stuck. Also wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to check payment status without calling - the website seems pretty basic compared to what it should be in 2024.

Hey Esteban! I'm in a really similar boat - the waiting and uncertainty is the worst part, especially when you've got bills looming. About the assembly member's office, I've heard mixed things but it might be worth a shot if you're really stuck. As for checking payment status online, yeah the EDD website is pretty bare bones. I've been refreshing my account daily but there's not much detail beyond basic claim info. Have you tried logging in early morning? Sometimes I notice updates appear then. Hang in there - hopefully we both get some movement soon! 🤞

I'm in the exact same boat - 18 days since my last payment and Form 2500A is nowhere to be found in my online account. The stress is real when you're counting on that money for basic expenses! One thing I discovered is that you can sometimes get faster responses by sending a message through your online account rather than calling. It takes 2-3 days but at least you get a written response with specifics about your case. Also, if you have any medical documentation that needs updating, make sure that's not what's holding things up - I've seen delays when doctors' offices are slow with paperwork. The waiting game is brutal but you're definitely not alone in this. Fingers crossed we all see some movement soon! 🙏
