New debit card MIA after move - old or new address?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my new debit card. I recently moved and I'm not sure if the bank is sending it to my old address or my new one. It's been a while and I still haven't received it. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on what I should do?

Ugh, been there done that. It's such a pain when you move and have to update everything. Have you called the bank yet? That's probably your best bet to make sure they have the right address on file.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call but the wait times are insane. I'll keep trying tho, thanks for the advice!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Usually shorter wait times then 👍

This happened to me last year. Turns out my card got sent to my old address and my ex-roommate just decided to keep it 🙄 Definitely call the bank ASAP and make sure they have your new address. They might even be able to cancel the old card and send you a new one.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of hold time.

•For me it was. Time is money, and I was wasting hours on hold. But yeah, everyone's situation is different.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call your bank immediately. Use their customer service number on the back of your old card or from their official website. 2. Verify your identity when you get through. 3. Confirm your new address with them and make sure it's updated in their system. 4. Ask about the status of your new card. If it was sent to the old address, request them to cancel it and issue a new one. 5. Inquire about expedited shipping if you need the card urgently. 6. While you're at it, update your address for any other services linked to your bank account. 7. Set up online banking if you haven't already. It's easier to track these things. 8. Ask them about temporary solutions like digital card numbers if you need to make online purchases. Remember, it's crucial to act fast to prevent any potential fraud if the card was sent to the wrong address. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I work at a bank (not naming which one) and this is pretty much exactly what we tell people to do in this situation.

•I hadn't thought of that! I'll see if I can get in touch with the new tenants and ask them to check. Thanks for the idea!
