EDD payments stopped due to late questionnaire submission - need advice!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My payments got stopped because I submitted a questionnaire form late. It was over a month late, but I swear it wasn't my fault! I had some technical issues when trying to submit it. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to explain this to them and get my payments back on track?

I found a way to solve late questionnaire payment stoppage, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPSFiPLd0uo

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Did you take any screenshots of the technical issues? That could really help your case when you talk to them.

•No, I didn't think to take screenshots at the time 😭 I was just so frustrated with the whole thing

•Pro tip: always document everything when dealing with government websites. They're notoriously glitchy!

Have you tried calling them to explain the situation? Sometimes talking to a real person can make all the difference.

•I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

This whole system is so broken. Why do they make it so hard for people who are already struggling? 🤬

Here's what I would do: 1. Write a detailed explanation of what happened, including dates and any error messages you remember. 2. Try to find any emails or other documentation that shows you attempted to submit on time. 3. Call them (use that calling service if you need to) and calmly explain the situation. 4. If the first person can't help, ask to speak to a supervisor. 5. Be persistent! Don't give up if the first attempt doesn't work. Remember, technical issues are a valid reason for late submission. They should have some way to verify if their system was having problems. Good luck!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of every call you make, who you talk to, and what they say. It can help if you need to escalate later.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape.

•I hadn't thought of that! Do you know how I would go about contacting them?

•Just google your state and 'find my representative'. Most have forms on their websites where you can request help with state agencies. Worth a shot!
