EDD not receiving doctor's form for SDI claim - 3 weeks without payment, need advice

Has anyone else had trouble with EDD not receiving their doctor's form? I submitted the Physician/Practitioner's Supplementary Certificate weeks ago, but EDD claims they never got it. It's been almost 3 weeks since my last payment and I'm getting really worried. I called them and they just told me to wait, but I can't afford to keep waiting. Any advice on how to get this sorted out? I'm at my wits end here.

I found a way to solve EDD doctor's form not received, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNIgF_kTaGw

Emails can sometimes get quicker attention, especially if you mark it as urgent.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite these issues.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find my assembly member?

Just google "[your city] assembly member". They usually have a contact form on their website for constituent services.

I had the same issue last year. It took me calling every single day for a week straight to finally get someone who could help. Keep pushing!

Every day for a week? That's insane. The system is so broken 😑

Tell me about it. It was exhausting, but it was the only way to get results.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try calling more often. Did you use any specific strategy to get through?

Maybe try calling during lunch hours or late evenings when it's less busy?

Pro tip: if u can't get thru on the main line, try calling their overpayment number. Sometimes u can get transferred to a real person faster that way.

I did this once and actually got someone on the line! Worth a shot.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all just get jobs instead of relying on government handouts πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Wow, way to be totally insensitive. Not everyone can just "get a job" πŸ™„

I have a job. This is about disability, not unemployment. Please don't assume.

It's important to understand not all benefits are 'handouts'. Many have earned them through work.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken.

Sounds sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

I used Claimyr too. It's pricey but it got results for me.

There should be cheaper alternatives, but it's a viable option when you're desperate.

The EDD process can be extremely frustrating and cumbersome due to high volumes, outdated technology, and the complexity of the system. First, ensure that your form was filled out correctly, and consider resending via fax or certified mail. If you are at a standstill, utilizing tools like Claimyr can be beneficial as they allow you to skip the extremely long phone queues and get your call routed directly to an agent, albeit at a cost. This tool is legitimate, but remember that it’s a paid service, so weigh the urgency of your situation against the fee. Additionally, reaching out to your local assembly member can provide leverage as they often have contacts within these bureaucratic systems. Consistent follow-up is key. Document every interaction in case you need to escalate the issue further. Balancing patience with persistence is hard, but necessary. Remember to check all your options, and reach out to support networks because others might have insights or resources that you’re unaware of. In the long run, advocating for system improvements is essential, but such change takes time. Stay strong!

Hey OP, have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Just a thought!

Good point! Checking spam folders has saved me more than once.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Resend the form via certified mail so you have proof of delivery. 3. Call EDD first thing in the morning when they open. That's usually the best time to get through. 4. If you can't get through, try calling right before they close. Sometimes that works too. 5. Be persistent. Don't take no for an answer. Ask to speak to a supervisor if needed. 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member or state senator. They can often cut through the red tape. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but don't give up. You'll get your money eventually!

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD is a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried faxing the form directly to them? Sometimes that works better than mail.

I second this. Faxing worked for me too.
