EDD silent for 3+ weeks after submitting physician paperwork. What now?
Hey everyone, I'm feeling pretty frustrated right now. I submitted my physician paperwork for my claim over 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a peep from EDD since then. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? I'm starting to worry that something might be wrong with my claim. Any advice on what I should do next or how to get in touch with someone who can actually give me an update?

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 I've been waiting for 2 months now. It's like they're purposely ignoring us or something. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho, its practically impossible.

2 months?! That's insane. I thought my 5 week wait was bad. This system is so broken 😤

Calling is useless. I spent 3 days trying to get through and when I finally did, they just told me to keep waiting. What a joke!

Yeah, its a total nightmare. I'm seriously considering just giving up at this point. Bills don't pay themselves tho 😩

I feel your pain, OP. I was in the same boat a few months back. Here's what worked for me: 1. Keep all your paperwork organized and ready to go. They might ask for it again. 2. Try calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. It's still a pain, but your chances are better. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, send a message through your online account. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 4. As a last resort, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things along. Hang in there! It's frustrating, but persistence is key. Don't let them wear you down.

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online message. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

Have you guys heard about this new service called Claimyr? I found a way to actually get someone on the phone using their calling tool. It dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check it out: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda sketchy. Why should we have to pay to talk to EDD?

I get the skepticism, but honestly, after spending hours trying to get through, $20 was worth it to me. Saved me so much time and stress.

Just used it yesterday and it worked like a charm. Expensive, yeah, but I finally got my issue resolved after weeks of trying.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. Worth a shot!

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should cut EDD some slack? They're probably swamped with claims. I know it sucks to wait, but they're doing their best with limited resources.

Bruh, they've had years to fix this system. No excuses at this point.

I'm not saying it's perfect, just trying to see it from their side. But yeah, I get the frustration.

Pro tip: if you're really desperate, show up at your local EDD office in person. Sometimes face-to-face interaction can work wonders.

This! I did this last month and got my issue resolved in one day. It's a hassle, but it works.
