EDD hasn't processed my continue claim form for weeks. What can I do?

I'm so frustrated with the unemployment office. They haven't entered my continue claim form that I sent in weeks ago. I had to use pages from an old form because I never got the new one. I've called and emailed them about it, but they just keep sending vague emails about 'supplemental certification' without any real info. Anyone else dealing with this mess? What can I do to get them to actually process my claim?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD is a total nightmare rn. I've been waiting for MONTHS to get my claim sorted out. Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's ass.

This! 👆 Contacting my assemblymember was the only thing that finally got my claim moving. Def worth a shot.

how do you even find out who ur assemblymember is? 🤔

Just google '[your city] assemblymember' and it should pop up. Then look for a 'contact us' page on their website. Good luck!

I swear the EDD is purposely making this difficult to discourage people from claiming benefits. It's ridiculous how broken the system is. 🤬

Have you tried faxing your forms? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes that works better than mailing or emailing. There are online fax services if you don't have access to a fax machine.

omg what year is it? 1995? 😂 but for real, this might actually work. EDD probably still uses Windows 95 lmao

I haven't tried faxing yet. Might give it a shot if I can figure out how to do it. Thanks for the tip!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds sketchy af. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

20 bucks to talk to EDD? highway robbery smh

I get the skepticism, but it's 100% legit. I was desperate after trying for weeks to get through. The $20 was worth it to finally talk to someone and get my issue resolved.

Can confirm, I used this too. Felt weird paying but it saved me hours of frustration.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past year: 1. Document EVERYTHING. Keep copies of all forms, emails, and notes from phone calls. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Use their online portal if possible. Sometimes it's faster than mail. 4. If you're not getting anywhere, contact your local rep or the EDD ombudsman. 5. Join Facebook groups for EDD claimants. They often have good tips and updates. 6. Check if you qualify for any special programs or extensions. 7. Be prepared for long wait times and conflicting info from different reps. Hang in there, OP. The system sucks, but don't give up!

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have to try a few days in a row, but that's how I finally got through.

What time do they open? Asking for a friend 👀

Anyone else notice how they always seem to 'lose' our paperwork but never forget to cut off our benefits? 🤔 Makes ya think...
