Need EDD disability form ASAP - can't reach anyone on phone. Help!

I need to get a form from the unemployment office to continue my disability claim. I've been trying to reach them for days but can't get through. Anyone else dealing with this? How did you manage to get the form you needed?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄 Have you tried faxing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 😂 But seriously, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot if I can find a fax machine somewhere.

Pro tip: There are online fax services you can use. No need to hunt down an actual fax machine. Google 'online fax' and you'll find a bunch of options.

Oh wow, I had no idea. Thanks for the info! I'll definitely look into that.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta pay to play, ya know?

I used it too. Felt weird paying but honestly worth every penny. Got my issue resolved in like 20 minutes once I got through.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. That's your best shot. 2. If that doesn't work, try reaching out to your local state representative. They often have contacts in the unemployment office. 3. Check their website daily for any updates or new ways to submit requests online. 4. Join Facebook groups for unemployment in your state. Sometimes people share insider tips there. 5. As a last resort, consider going to their office in person if possible. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Wow, thanks for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

This is solid advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every attempt. It might come in handy later if there are delays in your claim.

have you tried emailing them? sometimes thats faster than calling tbh

I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. It's a nightmare. I swear they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Hang in there, OP. 💪

Preach! 🙌 The whole system needs an overhaul. It's not the 1980s anymore, why can't they modernize?

Conspiracy theory: they totally do make it hard on purpose. Fewer claims = less money paid out. 🤔

Have you checked if there's an online portal where you can request forms? Some states have been updating their systems lately.

I looked but couldn't find anything for this specific form. Their website is like a maze 😵‍💫
