EDD keeps calling about my SDI forms - what should I do?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my state disability forms. I sent them in a while ago but I'm not sure if they got received. Now I keep getting calls from the department but I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to handle it?

Ugh, dealing with the disability department is such a pain. I've been there before. Have you tried calling them back? Sometimes they're just trying to verify info or get additional documents.

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have to wait on hold for a bit, but at least you'll get through eventually.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

•It took about 45 minutes for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to do it yourself!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before they actually call you. Might give you a heads up on whats going on

Oof, I feel ya. The whole system is a mess rn. I've been waiting on my forms to process for like 2 months now. Hang in there! 💪

•2 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

•Nah, I haven't. Didn't even know that was an option. Thanks for the tip!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account first. Make sure all your info is up to date. 2. If you can't get through on the phone, try emailing them. Keep it short and include your claim number. 3. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You might need it later. 4. If they keep calling, it might be because they need more info. Answer if you can, or call back ASAP. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They often have direct lines to the department. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: if you do get through, ask for a direct number or extension for follow-ups. Can save you tons of time.

Have you tried faxing your forms? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it works better than mail or online submission.
