NYDOL claim not showing up in system despite confirmation text. What to do?
I'm so frustrated with the unemployment system right now. I submitted all my documents through their website and even got a text saying my application was received and ready to be certified. That was over a week ago. But when I called the automated system, it said they don't see any claim for me! Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I finally get to talk to a real person?

Ugh, classic government efficiency 🙄 I've been there, buddy. Here's what you need to do when you finally get through to a human: 1. Have that confirmation text ready. Screenshot it if you can. 2. Ask them point-blank why your claim isn't showing up in the system. 3. Find out if they need any more docs from you. 4. Get a reference number for your call! 5. Ask when you should follow up if you don't hear anything. Stay calm, but be firm. Don't let them brush you off without answers!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: take notes during the call! You might need to reference the convo later.

•facts 💯 also ask for the agents name at the beginning of the call. makes em more accountable

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

•It's legit! You pay, give them your number, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of hold time.

•20 bucks tho? Idk man, seems steep for a phone call.

•Trust me, after spending days trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Time is money, ya know?

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under the unemployment office's a**.

•I hadn't thought of that! How would I go about contacting them?

•Just google '[your area] state representative' and you should find their office contact info. Call or email explaining your situation. They often have staff dedicated to helping with stuff like this.

Pro tip: keep calling first thing in the morning, right when they open. That's how I finally got through after weeks of trying.

•What time do they open? Might have to set an alarm lol

•8am sharp. Set that alarm and start dialing!

idk if this helps but I had a similar issue. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my SSN was entered wrong. Double check all your info when u get someone on the line!

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's not built to handle the volume of claims we're seeing. We should be pushing our reps for real change!

•Yeah but good luck getting politicians to care about fixing it. They only pay attention when it affects them directly 🙄
