EDD funds not released after certifying on 4/4 - anyone else experiencing delays?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I certified for unemployment on 4/4 saying I was still unable to work, but it's been over a week and my funds haven't been released yet. I've been checking every day but nothing's changed. Anyone else experiencing delays or know what might be going on? I'm getting worried about bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD system is such a mess rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes there's a hold on your account that you don't know about.

•I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold last week.

Same boat here, certified on 4/3 and still waiting. This is getting ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive when they can't even release funds on time?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•20 bucks? That's highway robbery when we're already broke 🙄

•I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to call. For me, it was worth it to finally get answers.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your UI Online account for any pending certifications or notifications. 2. Make sure your identity verification is up to date. 3. If you've had any changes in your situation (like started working part-time), report it ASAP. 4. Try calling early in the morning or late afternoon - those are usually less busy times. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. Hang in there, the system is overwhelmed but they'll get to you eventually!

•Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try these steps. 🙏

•The assembly member tip is gold. They helped me resolve a 3-month delay last year.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: There's a glitch in the EDD system affecting certifications from early April. They're working on fixing it but no ETA. Source: I work in IT and have a friend at EDD.

•Seriously? That explains so much. Any idea how long it'll take to fix?

•No clue, man. Bureaucracy moves slow af. Could be days, could be weeks. 🤷♂️

•Great, just great. As if we didn't have enough to worry about. 🙄

Unpopular opinion: maybe try looking for work instead of relying on unemployment? There's plenty of jobs out there.

•Ok boomer 🙄 Not everyone can just magically find a job that pays enough to live on

•Wow, way to be insensitive. Some of us have health issues or other circumstances preventing us from working right now.

•Just saying, don't put all your eggs in the EDD basket. Gotta be proactive.

Anyone else notice that ever since they implemented that new ID.me system, everything's been slower? I swear it's causing more problems than it's solving.

•Omg yes! It took me like 3 tries to get through that stupid verification process.

•I heard it's to prevent fraud, but seems like it's just making life harder for everyone 🤦♂️

Pro tip: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every certification. You never know when you'll need to prove something to EDD.

I'm in the exact same situation! Certified on 4/5 and still nothing. This is so stressful when you're counting on that money for rent and groceries. I've been checking my account obsessively but the status hasn't changed from "pending." Really hoping this gets resolved soon - we shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to. Thanks for posting this, at least now I know I'm not alone in this mess.
