EDD SDI form for pregnancy disability STILL not showing up after rep said it would be added immediately

I'm so frustrated with the EDD process for pregnancy disability! I filed my claim two weeks ago but there's apparently a form I need to fill out about my work search efforts after leaving my previous job (I switched employers 3 months before my pregnancy disability started). I finally got through to a rep today after 2+ hours of calling, and she told me she would add the form to my SDI Online account for me to fill out electronically. She promised it would show up immediately and that once I submitted it, my claim could be processed. It's been almost an hour since we hung up and still NOTHING is showing in my account! The rep specifically said if I call back and get someone else on the phone, they could complete it over the phone immediately instead. Has anyone dealt with this work search verification form for pregnancy disability? How long did it take to appear in your account? I'm 36 weeks now and getting really anxious about having my claim processed before the baby arrives!

The same thing happened with my pregnancy disability claim last year. The work search form took about 24 hours to actually appear in my SDI Online account even though the rep said it would be immediate. EDD's systems are incredibly slow to update! I recommend checking again tomorrow morning. If it's still not there, you should definitely call back and ask them to just complete it over the phone like they mentioned. The form is usually just confirming when you left your previous job and what efforts you made to find work before starting at your new employer. It's part of their verification process when there's a job change shortly before a disability claim.

Thank you! That's so helpful to know! 24 hours feels like forever when you're this pregnant and worried about income, but at least now I have realistic expectations. I'll check tomorrow morning and call back if needed. Did your claim process quickly after you submitted the form?

3 DAYS?! Ugh, that's terrible. I was hoping it would just be a system delay of a few hours. Thanks for the congrats - just wish EDD made this easier for pregnant women!

I went through this exact situation in January with my pregnancy disability claim. The EDD representative told me the form would appear immediately, but it actually took about 36 hours to show up in my online account. However, I discovered that if you call the SDI number at 1-800-480-3287 when they first open at 8:00 AM, you're much more likely to get through to someone who can complete the form over the phone. I've found that's always faster than waiting for their online system to update.\n\nAlternatively, have you tried using Claimyr? It's a service that helps you get through to an EDD agent quickly instead of waiting on hold for hours. I used it for my last call and got through in about 10 minutes. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ?si=1hcSq3KFtCr4oAmd. Definitely worth it when you're pregnant and don't have the energy to deal with being on hold forever!

I second the early morning call strategy! Always call EDD right when they open. If the form doesn't show up, definitely call again rather than waiting around. The pregnancy disability process moves SO SLOW if you don't stay on top of it!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you CANNOT trust ANYTHING the EDD reps tell you about timing!!! I had the EXACT same issue with my pregnancy disability claim last year. The rep SWORE the form would be in my account within minutes and it took FIVE DAYS to appear!!! By then I was in active labor and couldn't even fill it out until after my baby was born. Then they delayed my payments for WEEKS because of it. The entire system is BROKEN when it comes to handling pregnancy claims. They act like pregnancy is some rare condition they've never dealt with before when it's literally a massive percentage of their disability claims!!!!

Oh no, that's my worst nightmare! I'm so sorry you went through that. I'm going to call back tomorrow morning and demand they complete it over the phone instead of waiting. I definitely don't want to be dealing with paperwork while in labor!

just wondering - did u get a confirmation number or anything when the rep said she added the form? i always ask for some kind of reference number for exactly this reason. edd is a nightmare to deal with!

No, I didn't think to ask for a confirmation number! That's a really good idea though. I'll definitely ask for that when I call back tomorrow.

Make sure you're checking the right section in your SDI Online account. The form wouldn't show up in the same place as your claim status - it's usually under a separate

Thank you for these specific tips! I checked all the tabs and my inbox multiple times, but I'll keep looking. I didn't know about asking for a tier 2 specialist - that's really helpful advice! I'll definitely do that when I call tomorrow.

My wife had something similar happen with her pregnancy disability last year. The EDD is terrible with these forms! Her doctor filled out everything correctly but then they needed some additional form about her previous employment. The whole thing was so stressful right before having a baby. Honestly the best thing we did was keep calling until we got a helpful rep who just handled everything on the spot. Some reps will go the extra mile and others just want to get you off the phone as quickly as possible.

That's exactly what I think happened to me - I got a rep who just wanted to get me off the phone! I'm definitely going to try the

Quick update on your situation - I just realized there's actually a specific name for this form: DE 2580WS (Work Search Certification). Knowing the exact form number might help when you call back. When the form finally does appear, make sure you have all your previous employment information handy, including contact details for your former employer and dates of employment. They'll also ask about job search activities between your previous job and starting your new position. Having all this information ready will make the process go much faster once the form finally appears.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I have all that information ready to go, so hopefully when I call tomorrow I can just give them the form number and get it done over the phone. I really appreciate this specific information!
