Anyone receive CalFresh stimulus benefits (S sunbucks) deposit for May 2025 yet?

Has anyone received their S sunbucks (stimulus supplement) for CalFresh this month? My EBT balance updated yesterday with my regular benefits, but the extra $127 stimulus amount they've been adding since March isn't showing up. The county worker told me these supplements would continue through September 2025, so I'm getting worried. My family is counting on that extra amount for fresh produce. Checked BenefitsCal and there's no notice about changes... is this happening to anyone else or just me?

whats S sunbucks????? i get calfresh but never heard of this extra money

It's the 2025 California Food Supplement Program they started in March - gives extra money on top of regular CalFresh. Amount depends on household size. My county calls them "S sunbucks" but I think official name is California Nutrition Supplement or something? You should be getting it automatically if you're on CalFresh!

The proper name is actually the California Seasonal Nutrition Enhancement (CSNE), not "S sunbucks" - though I know some counties use different nicknames. These are temporary supplemental benefits that were authorized by the state legislature last year, and yes, they're supposed to continue through September 2025. The deposits typically come 2-3 days after your regular benefits, not simultaneously. I would wait until Thursday before getting concerned. If nothing shows up by then, you should contact your county office. The supplement amount varies by household size, with $127 being correct for a household of 3-4 members.

Thank you for the clarification! I didn't realize they come separately. My caseworker just said "you'll get extra on your EBT" and didn't explain the timing difference. Will wait until Thursday then. And yes, we're a household of 3.

I'm in Sacramento County and NOTHING has appeared yet!!! This is making me EXTREMELY nervous because we absolutely depend on this extra amount for my kids' food. Last month it came THE SAME DAY as regular benefits. Why would they change the schedule without telling anyone?? This is exactly what happened before they suddenly cancelled the pandemic EBT without proper notification and I ended up with a cart full of groceries I couldn't pay for. I'm calling the county RIGHT NOW.

There's no need to panic. The CSNE funds are disbursed on a staggered schedule that can vary by county and case number. It's completely normal for them to arrive 1-4 days after your regular benefits. They haven't been cancelled - the program is fully funded through September 2025 as confirmed by the CDSS website updated last week.

If you're trying to reach your CalFresh worker about this, I'd recommend trying Claimyr instead of waiting on hold forever. I used it last month when my CSNE supplement was missing (turned out I needed to submit verification for my daughter who turned 18). Claimyr holds your place in line and calls you back when a worker is available. Saved me literally hours of hold time. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 or just go to claimyr.com. Way better than being stuck on hold all day.

Does this actually work? I'm still on hold and the automated message keeps saying "your call is important to us" every 2 minutes which is making me CRAZY.

Yes, it worked for me with Alameda County which is notoriously hard to reach. You just enter your number and they call you when a worker picks up. Way better than being stuck with your phone on speaker for hours.

To clarify for everyone: The California Seasonal Nutrition Enhancement (CSNE, sometimes casually called "S-bucks" or "sunbucks" by some county workers) follows a staggered deposit schedule based on your case number and county. Here's how it typically works: - Cases ending in 1-3: 1-2 days after regular benefits - Cases ending in 4-6: 2-3 days after regular benefits - Cases ending in 7-9: 3-4 days after regular benefits - Cases ending in 0: 4-5 days after regular benefits This staggered schedule helps prevent system overloads and merchant shortages. Nothing has been cancelled, and the program remains funded through September 2025. If your supplement doesn't arrive within the expected window, then contact your county office. Also, be aware that if you've had any household changes or income changes since your last reporting, they may be reviewing your supplement amount, which could cause a delay.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! My case number ends in 7 so that explains why I should wait a few more days. Wish my caseworker had mentioned this staggered schedule instead of just saying "you'll get extra.

Yes, if you're currently receiving CalFresh and haven't received any CSNE supplements since March, you should definitely contact your county office. The program is automatic for all active CalFresh recipients. Just be prepared to verify your identity and case details when you call.

UPDATE: My supplement just posted this morning! Exactly as people here explained - it comes a few days after regular benefits depending on your case number. Thanks everyone for preventing my panic attack lol. For anyone else wondering, check your balance again in a few days before getting worried.
