What day does Washington ESD unemployment deposit money into bank accounts?

I just got approved for UI benefits and I'm trying to figure out when the money actually hits my bank account. I filed my weekly claim on Sunday and it shows as processed on the Washington ESD website, but I don't see any deposit yet. Does anyone know what day of the week Washington ESD typically sends out the payments? I'm using direct deposit and my bank usually processes things pretty fast.

Usually it's Tuesday or Wednesday if you file your weekly claim on Sunday. Washington ESD processes payments in batches and it depends on when your claim gets processed in their system.

Thanks! I'll keep checking my account over the next couple days then.

Mine always comes on Tuesday like clockwork, been getting benefits for 2 months now

It really varies honestly. Sometimes I get mine Monday night, sometimes not until Thursday. The Washington ESD system is pretty inconsistent with timing.

0 coins

That's frustrating, I was hoping it would be more predictable than that

0 coins

Yeah the timing is all over the place, especially if there are any issues with your claim that need review

I've been trying to call Washington ESD for weeks to ask about my payment timing but can never get through. The phone lines are always busy and I get hung up on constantly.

Have you tried using Claimyr? I found out about it last month at claimyr.com and it actually got me connected to an Washington ESD agent. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. It's way better than sitting on hold for hours.

From my experience, if you file Sunday then expect deposit Tuesday-Wednesday. If you file later in the week it might not come until the following week. Washington ESD processes weekly claims on a schedule.

0 coins

Good to know, I'll make sure to file on Sundays going forward

0 coins

Yeah I learned that the hard way, filed on a Thursday once and didn't get paid until the next Tuesday

0 coins

Are you sure your direct deposit info is correct in your Washington ESD account? I had mine wrong for the first month and was wondering where my money was lol

0 coins

Yeah I double checked that, routing and account numbers are right

0 coins

Smart to verify that, I've seen people wait weeks because of one wrong digit

The Washington state system usually deposits on Tuesdays but holidays can mess up the schedule. Memorial Day pushed mine back a day last month.

0 coins

Oh that makes sense, I didn't think about holidays affecting it

0 coins

Yeah any federal holiday will delay Washington ESD payments by at least a day

0 coins

Just be patient, it'll come. My first payment took 4 days but now they're pretty regular every Tuesday.

0 coins

Thanks for the reassurance, I'm probably just being impatient since it's my first payment

If you need to verify your payment status or have issues, calling Washington ESD directly is usually the best bet. I used Claimyr recently when I had payment delays and they got me through to an agent who could see exactly what was happening with my claim processing. Way better than guessing when the deposit will hit.

0 coins

How much does that cost? I'm already struggling financially

0 coins

It's worth it when you need answers fast, especially if there are any hold-ups with your benefits

0 coins

Depends on your bank too. My credit union processes ACH deposits faster than the big banks my friends use.

0 coins

I'm with Chase, they're usually pretty quick with direct deposits

0 coins

Chase should show it Tuesday if Washington ESD processed it Monday night

0 coins

Make sure you're checking the right account! I accidentally gave them my savings account number and was checking my checking account for weeks wondering where my money was 🤦‍♀️

0 coins

Haha I can see how that would happen, but I definitely gave them the right account

0 coins

I did something similar with an old account number from a bank I closed

Tuesday is the magic day in my experience. File Sunday, get paid Tuesday. Been on benefits for 6 months and it's been consistent.

0 coins

That's what I'm hoping for, thanks for sharing your experience

0 coins

Same here, Tuesday is when Washington ESD deposits hit for most people

0 coins

Just got my deposit this morning (Tuesday) and I filed Sunday night. So it looks like the Tuesday thing is pretty accurate.

0 coins

Perfect, I'll check my account tomorrow morning then!

Washington ESD payments have been coming on Tuesdays for me too, but sometimes there are delays if your claim needs any kind of review or if there are system issues.

0 coins

My claim status shows as paid so hopefully no delays

0 coins

If it shows paid you should definitely see the deposit by Wednesday at the latest

0 coins

I had issues with delayed payments last month and used Claimyr to get through to Washington ESD. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was causing the delay and when to expect payment. Saved me a lot of stress compared to just waiting and wondering.

0 coins

Good to know that's an option if I run into problems

0 coins

Yeah it's nice to be able to actually talk to someone when you need answers

Tuesday mornings are when I always see my Washington ESD deposit. Bank of America usually posts them around 6am.

0 coins

That's early! I'll check first thing Tuesday morning

0 coins

Been getting unemployment for 3 months now and it's always Tuesday or Wednesday. Never had it come on Monday or later than Wednesday.

0 coins

That's consistent with what everyone else is saying, thanks

My payments come every other Tuesday since I'm on standby status. Regular UI should be weekly though if you're filing every week.

0 coins

Yeah I'm on regular UI and filing weekly, so should be every Tuesday hopefully

0 coins

Standby is different, that's for people temporarily laid off who expect to return to work

0 coins

Just wanted to update - got my deposit this morning (Tuesday) like everyone said! Thanks for all the help, now I know what to expect going forward.

0 coins

Awesome! Glad it worked out and you got your payment on schedule

0 coins

Perfect, now you know Tuesday is the day to check your account
