When does Washington ESD unemployment deposit hit your account?
I just got approved for UI benefits after waiting forever for adjudication to finish. Filed my first weekly claim on Sunday and it shows as paid on my account, but I still don't see the money in my bank account. When does Washington ESD actually deposit the funds? Is it the same day every week or does it vary? I'm getting pretty anxious because I have bills due and need to know when I can count on the money being there.

Usually takes 1-2 business days after your claim shows as paid. If you filed Sunday and it processed Monday, you should see it by Wednesday at the latest. Make sure your direct deposit info is correct in your account.

•Thanks! Yeah my direct deposit info looks right. Guess I'll wait until Wednesday before worrying.

Washington ESD processes payments on business days only. If your weekly claim shows 'Paid' status, the money is usually in your account within 1-2 business days. Keep in mind holidays can delay this - if there's a federal holiday the deposit might take an extra day.

•Good to know about holidays! No holidays this week so hopefully it comes on time.

•What if it's been 3 business days and still no deposit? That happened to me once and I couldn't get through to anyone at Washington ESD to check on it.

•If you're having trouble reaching Washington ESD by phone, I found this service called Claimyr that helps you get through to an actual agent. They handle the calling for you so you don't have to sit on hold forever. Check out claimyr.com - they even have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

Been on unemployment twice in the past few years. First time deposits came like clockwork every Tuesday. Second time it was more random - sometimes Tuesday, sometimes Wednesday. Think it depends on how busy they are processing claims that week.

•Interesting that it can vary like that. Hope mine is consistent so I can plan around it.

OMG I'm in the same situation! Filed Sunday, shows paid but no money yet. This is so stressful, I have rent due Friday and I'm freaking out that something went wrong with my claim.

•Don't panic yet! It's only been 2 days. If it shows paid in your Washington ESD account, the money is coming. Give it until Thursday before you start worrying.

•I know you're right but I can't help being anxious about it. This whole unemployment process has been such a nightmare.

•Totally understand the anxiety. If you need to verify the payment status or have questions, sometimes calling Washington ESD directly helps. Though getting through can be tough during busy times.

Different banks process deposits at different times too. My credit union posts ACH deposits at midnight, but my friend's big bank doesn't post until like 6am. So even if Washington ESD sends it the same day, you might see it at different times.

•That's a good point! I have a small local bank so maybe they're slower to post deposits.

•yeah i switched to a different bank after my first one took forever to show unemployment deposits

Just curious - how much are you getting? I'm trying to figure out if my benefit amount is right but can't get anyone at Washington ESD to explain the calculation.

•Not comfortable sharing the exact amount but it seems reasonable based on my previous salary.

•Fair enough, just wondering because mine seems low compared to what I was making.

•Your weekly benefit amount is based on your highest earning quarter in your base period. There's a formula they use but it's pretty complicated. If you think it's wrong you can request a redetermination.

Pro tip: set up text alerts in your banking app so you get notified the second any deposit hits your account. Saved my sanity during my unemployment period.

•Great idea! Just set that up, thanks for the suggestion.

Washington ESD is such a mess with their timing. Last year I had weeks where the deposit came on Tuesday, other weeks it was Thursday. No consistency at all. Really makes it hard to budget when you never know exactly when the money will show up.

•The timing can definitely vary based on processing volume and system maintenance. That's why they say 1-2 business days rather than giving a specific day.

•I get why they can't be exact, just wish it was more predictable for people who are already stressed about money.

•Totally agree. When you're living paycheck to paycheck (or unemployment check to unemployment check), that uncertainty is really hard to deal with.

If you're really worried about timing, you could always call Washington ESD to confirm your payment was processed correctly. Though good luck getting through - I tried calling for 3 hours yesterday and kept getting disconnected.

•That's exactly why I started using Claimyr. Instead of wasting hours trying to get through myself, they handle the calling and get you connected to an actual Washington ESD agent. Worth every penny when you need answers fast.

•Never heard of that but might be worth checking out. Getting hung up on over and over is so frustrating.

Update on my situation - deposit just hit my account! Filed Sunday night, showed paid Monday morning, and deposit appeared Wednesday at 3am. So looks like the 1-2 business day timeline is accurate.

•That's reassuring! Mine still hasn't shown up but it's only been 2 days so I'll wait a bit longer.

Been getting unemployment for 6 months now and here's what I've noticed: if you file your weekly claim before noon on Sunday, deposit usually comes Tuesday. If you file later in the day Sunday or on Monday, it's usually Wednesday. Not 100% consistent but that's been my pattern.

Fatima Al-Hashimi
•Interesting pattern! I filed around 2pm on Sunday so maybe that's why I'm waiting until Wednesday.

•that actually makes sense, i always file early sunday morning and almost always get paid tuesday

•I wish Washington ESD would just publish their actual processing schedule so we'd know what to expect.

Anyone else notice deposits seem to come later in the week around holidays? Even when the holiday doesn't fall on a business day, seems like everything gets pushed back a day.
0 coins
Sofia Hernandez
•Bank processing can definitely be affected by holiday weeks even if the holiday itself doesn't impact business days. Federal banking systems sometimes run modified schedules.

Natasha Petrova
•That explains why my deposit was late last week even though the holiday was on a Saturday.

Just want to add that if your deposit is really late (like more than 3 business days), definitely call Washington ESD because there might be an issue with your claim that you need to address. Don't just assume it will show up eventually.

•Good advice! I'll definitely call if it's not there by Friday.

•How do you actually get through to them though? I've been trying for days with no luck.

•Like I mentioned earlier, Claimyr is really helpful for getting through to Washington ESD agents when you can't reach them on your own. They know the best times to call and handle all the waiting for you.
