Weekly claim stuck in 'web processing' with $0 paid - will I still get my money?

I'm freaking out a little bit. I've been claiming for about 3 months with no issues, but this week something weird is happening. When I check my claim status, it shows 'web processing' and then says 'benefits paid $0' even though I'm supposed to get my regular $687. All my previous weeks paid normally and nothing has changed with my situation. I definitely completed all my job search activities and submitted everything on time. Has anyone seen this 'web processing' status before? Does this mean my payment is just delayed or am I not getting paid this week? I have rent due in 5 days and I'm getting nervous.

web processing usually means its still going thru the system. mine said that for like 2 days then changed to paid. you'll prob get ur money just a bit late

Thanks for the reassurance! I hope you're right. How long did it take for the money to actually hit your account after it changed from processing to paid?

'Web processing' is a normal status that appears when your weekly claim is still being processed through the ESD system. It typically means your claim is moving through verification steps before payment is issued. This doesn't automatically mean there's a problem. A few things that might be happening: 1. There may be a holiday delay (if Monday was a holiday) 2. You might have entered something on your weekly claim that triggered a review 3. It could just be a temporary system delay In most cases, it resolves within 1-3 business days and changes to 'paid' status. I recommend waiting 48 hours before taking any action. If it still shows web processing after that, you may want to contact ESD for clarification.

This is really helpful context, thank you! I did report some odd hours from a small side gig this week, maybe that triggered something. I'll give it the 48 hours and see what happens.

THE EXACT SAME THING happened to me last month and I never got my money!!! I waited and waited but it stayed at web processing for 2 weeks. Had to call ESD like 50 times before someone told me that there was a "question" on my claim that needed to be resolved. They never notified me about ANY question! By the time I found out what was happening, I missed my chance to fix it for that week. DON'T WAIT - call them ASAP!!!

While this can happen, it's relatively uncommon. Most web processing statuses do resolve automatically within a few days. That said, if you're concerned or if it's been more than 3-4 business days, contacting ESD is definitely a good idea. Just keep in mind that their call center gets overwhelmed easily.

had this happen before, sometimes it just takes a day longer than usual to process. but one time it was because i accidentally clicked something wrong on my claim form. check your eServices messages to see if they sent you anything about needing additional info

Just checked and there's nothing in my messages yet. I'll keep an eye on it though. Thanks!

After spending weeks being stuck in web processing hell last year, I finally found a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an actual ESD agent. If your claim doesn't update in the next day or two, you might want to check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 It was the only way I could actually talk to a human at ESD when my claim got stuck for some mystery reason. The agent was able to see exactly what was causing the hold-up and fixed it right away. Definitely less stressful than making 100+ calls yourself.

does this actually work? i thought it was impossible to get thru to esd when their lines are busy

Yeah, it actually does. They basically hold your place in line so you don't have to keep redialing. I was skeptical too but it saved me when I was desperate to fix my claim issue.

I've been on unemployment for 5 months now and I've seen this 'web processing' status a few times. In my experience, it usually means one of three things: 1. Just a normal delay - sometimes the system takes an extra 1-2 days to process payments 2. You reported earnings or something else that triggered a review 3. There's a question about your job search activities About 90% of the time, it resolves itself without any action. If you reported any earnings this week or changed something about how you filled out your claim, that's probably the cause. The system holds payment until it verifies everything. Usually it switches to 'paid' status within 24-72 hours. If it goes longer than 3 business days without changing status, then you should try to contact ESD for clarification.

Thanks for this detailed breakdown. I did report some small earnings from a side gig I picked up - just 6 hours of work. That's probably it. I'll wait a couple more days before I panic!

Not for everyone though! Mine got stuck for WEEKS and I ended up having to appeal because they said I didn't respond to some question that I NEVER RECEIVED. The system is broken!!

UPDATE: You guys were right! It just changed to 'paid' status this morning. The money isn't in my account yet but at least it's moving forward. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and advice!

Great news! The deposit typically takes 1-2 business days after the status changes to 'paid,' depending on your bank. Glad it worked out!
