Weekly ESD claim filing only available on Sundays? Can't find the option

I'm totally confused about when I can file my weekly unemployment claim with ESD. I thought I could file my weekly claim any day of the week, but I can't find the option to file right now (it's Tuesday). The eServices dashboard just shows my claim status but no button or link to file for this week. Do I have to wait until Sunday to file? I'm worried about missing my payment since the handbook says something about a filing window. This is my first time on unemployment and I really don't want to mess anything up. Help!

You can file your weekly claim anytime Sunday through Saturday, but you need to look for the 'File Weekly Claim' button in the upper right section of your eServices dashboard. If you don't see it, make sure you're fully logged in and viewing the correct claim. Also, have you already filed for this week? The system won't show the option if you've already submitted for the current week.

Omg thank you for responding so fast! I swear I don't see that button anywhere. I definitely didn't file yet this week. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? I'm on the page that shows my claim summary and payment history.

I'll try that! I was looking all over but haven't clicked that menu yet. The whole interface is so confusing.

This is a common issue! The weekly filing button should be visible Sunday through Saturday, but there are several reasons why it might not appear: 1. Your benefit year may have expired 2. You might be looking at an older claim instead of your current one 3. There could be a pending issue requiring adjudication before you can file again 4. The system might be experiencing technical issues I recommend checking if there are any alerts or messages in your eServices inbox. If you can't resolve it online, you'll need to call ESD directly at 800-318-6022. Be prepared for a long wait time though.

Thanks for the detailed response. I don't see any alerts or messages. My claim is definitely active (just got approved last week). I'll try the hamburger menu suggestion above, but if that doesn't work I guess I have to call... ugh.

THE ESD WEBSITE IS GARBAGE!!!! I've had the exact same problem 3 times in the past year. Sometimes the button just randomly disappears. Try logging out completely, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in. Sometimes using a different browser works too. Chrome seems to work better than Edge or Safari with their stupid website.

Thiss!! Their whole system feels like it was designed in 2005 and never updated. I had to switch to Firefox to get it working properly last month.

If you need to reach ESD by phone, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). After struggling to get through for weeks, I finally tried their service and got connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending days redialing. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. It was actually worth it for me because I had a similar issue where my weekly claim option disappeared and it turned out there was a flag on my account that only a rep could remove.

I've never heard of that service before. Thanks for the tip! If I can't get this resolved today I might try it. Spending all day calling and getting hung up on sounds miserable.

Went through the exact same thing last month when I started my claim! For me, the problem was I needed to complete my initial job search check-in with WorkSource before the weekly claim option would appear. Did you do that yet? It's a required step before your first weekly claim can be filed. Check your messages or notices in eServices to see if they're asking you to complete that requirement.

Oh wait, maybe that's it!!! I got something about WorkSource but I thought it was just general info, not something I had to do right away. I'll go back and check that. Thank you!!!

UPDATE: Problem solved! It was exactly what @profile4 suggested - I had to complete my WorkSource registration first. After I did that and waited about an hour, the weekly claim button magically appeared! For anyone else who has this problem, check if you need to complete your WorkSource registration first. Thanks everyone for the help!!!

Great to hear you got it resolved! Just a reminder that going forward you'll need to complete and document 3 job search activities each week before filing. Make sure you keep detailed records of those activities in case ESD requests verification later.
