Need Governor's office contact number for ESD claim stuck in limbo since March

Been trying to get my unemployment claim resolved for over 2 months now. ESD adjudication has me completely stuck - they keep saying they need to 'verify my work history' even though I've uploaded EVERYTHING twice already. I'm down to my last $230 and about to miss rent. Someone at WorkSource mentioned calling the Governor's office as a last resort? Does anyone know the actual number I need to call? Has anyone actually gotten results going this route? I'm desperate at this point.

The Governor's Office for Constituent Services number is 360-902-4111. You can also use their online contact form. BUT honestly, I tried this route myself back in January and just got a generic response saying they'd 'forward my concerns' to ESD. Never heard anything after that. You might want to try contacting your state representative instead - they sometimes have staff dedicated to unemployment issues.

Before you go the Governor route, have you tried requesting an escalation through your WorkSource office? They have direct lines to ESD specialist teams that can sometimes push through stalled claims. I was in a similar situation (stuck in adjudication for 9 weeks!) and the WorkSource advisor in Tacoma was able to get someone from ESD to call me back within 3 days. Worth trying before you go up the political chain.

I talked to WorkSource but the person I spoke with just gave me general advice about uploading documents again. Didn't mention anything about escalation. Is there something specific I should ask for? Do I need to talk to a certain type of WorkSource advisor?

The governors office wont do ANYTHING!!! I called them 5 times when my claim was stuck for 4 MONTHS and all they do is take your information and "pass it along" to ESD. Same EXACT runaround as calling the regular ESD number. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US!!!!!

I understand your frustration, but sometimes it depends on who you talk to and how you explain your hardship situation. I've seen cases where the Governor's office did help push claims through after people explained they were facing eviction or utility shutoffs. It's worth a try alongside other options.

I've helped several clients with ESD issues, and honestly, the most effective approach is a combination of strategies. Here's what works best: 1. Contact your state representatives AND senator (they have staff dedicated to constituent services) 2. Submit a formal request for escalation through WorkSource (ask specifically for a "Claim Escalation Request") 3. Document EVERY conversation with date, time, and who you spoke with 4. If you're facing eviction or utility shutoff, make that very clear in all communications As for the Governor's office, yes, the number is 360-902-4111, but they're generally overwhelmed with requests. Still worth contacting, just don't rely on it as your only strategy.

Thank you for this detailed advice. I'll definitely contact my state rep - hadn't thought of that. And I'll ask WorkSource specifically about the Claim Escalation Request. Really appreciate the tips!

Have you tried using Claimyr? I was stuck in adjudication hell for 6 weeks and couldn't get through to anyone at ESD. Claimyr got me through to an actual ESD agent in about 25 minutes instead of waiting on hold for hours or getting hung up on. The agent was able to push my claim through right away once I explained my situation. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 and their website is claimyr.com - honestly wish I'd known about it sooner before wasting weeks trying the governor's office and standard ESD line.

Never heard of Claimyr before. Does it actually work? I've wasted so much time on hold only to get disconnected that I'm willing to try almost anything at this point. I'll check out that video, thanks.

When my claim was stuck last year, I emailed my state representative and cc'd the governor's office on the same email. The state rep's office called me back THE NEXT DAY and had a staff person dedicated to ESD issues. My claim was resolved within a week after 2 months of nothing! So def try your local rep over the governor. You can find your rep here: https://app.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder/

I wanted to follow up on my earlier comment about WorkSource escalation. When you go to WorkSource, you need to specifically ask for an "UI Liaison" or "ESD Specialist" - not all WorkSource staff have the same level of access to ESD systems. These specialists have direct channels to the adjudication teams. Make sure to bring all your claim information, including your claim ID number and a list of all documents you've already submitted. This approach helped me get my claim unstuck after weeks of frustration.

This is incredibly helpful - thank you! I'm going to my local WorkSource tomorrow and will specifically ask for the UI Liaison. I'll update here if I get any results.

Any update on your situation? Did you try any of these approaches yet? I'm curious which route worked for you since I know several people in similar situations right now.

So I've tried a few things from the advice here. I went to WorkSource and asked for the UI Liaison like someone suggested. They actually had me talk to someone who seemed more knowledgeable. They submitted some kind of internal ticket for me. I also emailed my state rep yesterday but haven't heard back yet. I'm going to try Claimyr tomorrow if I still don't get anywhere. Will definitely update once something works!
