Need Governor's office phone number to escalate stuck ESD claim - best time to call?
Hi everyone, I've been dealing with my unemployment claim being stuck in the system for almost 6 weeks now. ESD isn't responding to any of my messages and I can't get through on their phone lines. Someone at WorkSource mentioned I could try escalating my case to the Governor's office as a last resort. Does anyone know what phone number to call for the Governor's office regarding ESD issues? And is there a best time of day to call when I might actually get through to someone who can help? Getting desperate here as my savings are nearly gone. Thanks in advance!

The Governor's Office constituent services line is 360-902-4111. They're open weekdays 8am-5pm, but I've found calling right when they open at 8am gives you the best chance of getting through without a long wait. Be prepared with your claim ID number and a clear timeline of your ESD communication attempts. They can't directly fix your claim, but they can submit an official inquiry to ESD on your behalf which often gets things moving.

•Thank you so much! I'll definitely try calling at 8am tomorrow. Should I mention anything specific to make sure they actually help me? I'm worried they'll just tell me to keep waiting...

I had to do this last year when my claim was stuck in adjudication for 2 months! The number is 360-902-4111. I found that calling between 8:30-9:30am was best because the first half hour they're usually setting up for the day. When you call, make sure you explain EXACTLY how long you've been waiting and all the ways you've already tried to contact ESD. Be super polite but firm that you need help. They took my info and within 3 business days, ESD suddenly called me to resolve my issue.

•That's really helpful to know it actually worked for you! Did you need to provide any specific documentation or just your claim number?

the govs office wont do nothing!! i called them 5 times and they just take ur info and say theyll "pass it along" but NOTHING happens. complete waste of time better off just keeping calling ESD directly

•That hasn't been my experience at all. The Governor's Office helped me and several others I know. They can't guarantee results, but they do submit official inquiries that ESD has to respond to. It's important to be persistent and follow up if you don't hear anything within a week.

Have you tried using Claimyr? Before I resorted to contacting the Governor's office, I used their service to actually get through to an ESD agent on the phone. It saved me weeks of waiting. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Basically they hold your place in line and call you when they have an agent, so you don't waste hours on hold. I was able to get my adjudication issue resolved in one call after trying for almost a month on my own.

•I've never heard of this service - does it actually work? I'm willing to try anything at this point because I really need this claim to process. How long did it take you to get through?

•It took about 45 minutes from when I signed up until I was talking to an actual ESD agent. Way better than the endless busy signals I was getting before. The agent was able to see exactly what was holding up my claim and fixed it right there on the call.

my cousin works for state govt (not esd) and she says ALWAYS call govt offices tuesday-thursday. mondays they're swamped with weekend backlog and fridays everyone's checked out already lol. also avoid calling right after lunch break when everyones still getting back to their desks

•That's really good insider info! Maybe I'll try Wednesday at 8:30am. At this point I'm desperate enough to try any strategy that might work.

When I called the Governor's office about my ESD issue last year, I made sure to have a complete "paper trail" ready - dates of all attempted contacts with ESD, claim ID, confirmation numbers from messages I'd sent, screenshots of my eServices account showing the status, etc. The more organized and specific you are, the more likely they'll take your case seriously. The number is 360-902-4111 and I found mid-morning (around 10am) on Wednesdays to be the sweet spot for shorter wait times. Also, did you try contacting your state representative? They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with ESD issues, and sometimes they can get results even faster than the Governor's office.

•THIS ⬆️ contacting your state rep is actually better than governor sometimes!! my rep's office has a person who ONLY does unemployment issues

I waited 9 WEEKS for my claim to move!!! Governor's office was no help at all for me. What finally worked was I sent a message through eServices every single day for a week straight, each time adding "Day X of message attempts" in the subject line. On day 7 someone finally called me. The squeaky wheel gets the grease sometimes!

•I've sent 4 messages already over the past 6 weeks with no response. Did you say anything specific in your messages that seemed to finally get their attention?

•I kept it simple but I was VERY specific about my hardship situation. I literally wrote about having to choose between medicine and food, and listed exactly what bills I couldn't pay because of their delay. I think the daily messages plus the escalating subject line ("Day 5 of urgent messages - facing eviction") finally got someone's attention. Good luck!

One more thing - when you call the Governor's office, ask them to create a "constituent services case number" for your inquiry. That way you can reference this case number in follow-up calls, which shows you're serious and keeping track. Follow up after 3-5 business days if you don't hear anything from ESD. The system works, but sometimes you need to be persistent and methodical.

•Thank you! I'm definitely going to ask for that case number. I'll try calling tomorrow morning and update here if I have any luck getting through.
