Anyone have ESD's direct phone number for speaking to a real person?

Totally frustrated with trying to reach an actual human at ESD. I've been calling the main unemployment line for two weeks straight and keep getting the 'high call volume' message before it hangs up on me. I need to talk to someone ASAP about my adjudication issue that's been pending for over a month. Does anyone have a direct number to get through to a real person? I've tried the general 800 number listed on the website a million times with no luck. Would the Governor's office have a contact that could help push my claim through? This is getting ridiculous - rent is due next week and I'm completely out of options.

Hey there - I was in the same boat last month with my claim stuck in 'pending' status forever. I tried literally every phone number I could find until I discovered this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com). They basically get you to the front of the ESD phone queue so you actually get to speak to someone. I was skeptical but desperate, and it actually worked! They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - it saved me weeks of frustration. Way better than trying to go through the Governor's office, which will just redirect you back to ESD anyway.

Thank you!!! Going to check out that video right now. At this point I'll try anything. Did they actually help resolve your issue or just get you connected to someone?

The Governor's office won't help with individual unemployment claims - they'll just refer you back to ESD. If you're dealing with adjudication specifically, you need to reach the adjudication department directly. Try calling the main ESD number (800-318-6022) exactly when they open at 7:00 AM. That's the only time I've ever gotten through. Also, make sure you're checking your online account and responding to any questionnaires they might have sent - sometimes claims get stuck because they're waiting for more info from you.

I've tried calling right at 7am too! My alarm is set for 6:55 every morning lol. Still can't get through. And I've checked my online account obsessively - no questionnaires or anything showing up that I need to complete. It just says "adjudication in progress" with no other details.

THE ESD PHONE SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY RIGGED!!1! They NEVER answer calls because they don't WANT to help people. I had to contact my state representative to get any movement on my claim after 6 WEEKS of waiting. The whole "high call volume" thing is just their excuse to ignore us. Try emailing your district rep - sometimes they can light a fire under ESD.

This is actually good advice about contacting your state rep. I had to do this last year when my claim was stuck for almost 2 months. Find your rep here: https://app.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/ and send them an email explaining your situation. They often have staff dedicated to helping constituents with ESD issues.

Yes, I've sent like 5 messages through eServices over the past month. Not a single response. It's like screaming into the void...

Employment Security Department's main customer service line is 800-318-6022. They're open Monday-Friday from 7am to 5pm. Here's what I recommend to get through: 1. Call exactly at 7:00 AM 2. If that doesn't work, try calling midday on Wednesday or Thursday when volume tends to be slightly lower 3. Make sure your phone number is correctly listed in your eServices account so they can call you back if needed 4. If your claim shows "adjudication in progress," that means a specialist is reviewing your claim - often due to a discrepancy between your information and your employer's For adjudication issues specifically, you can also try the Office of Administrative Hearings at 360-407-2700 if your claim has been in adjudication for more than 3 weeks. They might be able to provide more information or escalate your case. The Governor's office doesn't handle unemployment claims directly.

Thank you for the detailed response! I'll try the Office of Administrative Hearings tomorrow since I've definitely been in adjudication for more than 3 weeks. Really appreciate the tips about Wednesday/Thursday too - I've mainly been trying Mondays and Tuesdays.

Will do! This is my first time too and I had no idea it would be this difficult just to speak to someone. I'll post an update if I manage to get through with any of these suggestions.

Just checking back - were you able to get through to ESD? I'm curious if any of the suggestions worked for you.

I finally got through! I ended up using Claimyr like you suggested and was connected with an agent in about 20 minutes. My issue was that my employer had reported different dates than what I put on my application, which triggered the adjudication. The agent was able to update my file and said my payments should be processed within 48 hours. Such a relief after weeks of stress!
