Need governor's office contact number to escalate my ESD adjudication issue

I've been stuck in adjudication hell for over 7 weeks now with ZERO progress on my unemployment claim. I've called ESD about 40 times, left messages, sent emails through the portal - absolutely nothing. My rent is already late and I'm about to lose my apartment. Someone told me I should contact the governor's office directly to get help with my claim. Does anyone have that number or know if this actually works? Has anyone tried this before? I'm desperate at this point and willing to try anything.

The Governor's Office contact number is 360-902-4111. You can also use their online contact form at governor.wa.gov/contact. However, I've found a more effective approach is to contact your local state representative or senator first. They have staff specifically for constituent services who can often get quick responses from ESD. Look up your district rep at leg.wa.gov and explain your situation to them.

Thank you SO MUCH! I'll try the governor's number tomorrow morning and also reach out to my state rep. Do you know how long it typically takes to hear back from either of them?

Ugh, that's discouraging. Did you ever get your claim resolved? What ended up working?

Before you contact the governor's office (which honestly probably won't help much), have you tried using Claimyr? It's a service that helps you get through to an actual ESD agent without waiting forever. I was in adjudication for 5 weeks and was getting desperate, then I found them at claimyr.com and got through to ESD in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Once I actually talked to someone, they resolved my issue that same day.

I've never heard of Claimyr before. Does it really work? I'm willing to try anything at this point since I've been trying to get through on my own for weeks with no luck.

The Governor's office number wont help you AT ALL!!! They just take your info and say someone will call back. NOBODY EVER DOES!! My sister waited 12 WEEKS in adjudication and lost her car because of it!!

While I understand your frustration, there are some cases where the Governor's office has helped escalate claims. It depends on staffing and timing. However, I agree it shouldn't be your first option. Did your sister try contacting her state representative? They often have better direct channels to ESD leadership.

I had the same problem last month and what finally worked was emailing my state senator. Their office contacted ESD directly and my claim was magically fixed within 3 days. The email address should be on leg.wa.gov - just find your district first. Good luck!

That's really helpful! I'm going to look up my district and contact my state senator right away. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

Just to clarify a few things about escalating to the Governor's office: they don't directly intervene in individual ESD claims, but they can route your concern to the appropriate ESD liaison. For an adjudication issue, you should include your claim ID, the date you filed, and specific details about your situation in any communication. More effective options include: 1. Working with your state representative or senator 2. Filing a formal appeal if you've received any determination 3. Contacting the ESD Office of Constituent Affairs at 855-682-0394 4. Using the Unemployment Law Project for free assistance if you're facing a disqualification In my experience working with clients, the state representative route typically gets the fastest response.

This is incredibly detailed and helpful. I didn't know about the ESD Office of Constituent Affairs - I'll try that number too. I haven't received any determination yet, just stuck in adjudication limbo, so I can't file an appeal. I really appreciate all these resources!

Just wanted to follow up - did you have any luck getting through? If the state rep route or governor's office doesn't work out quickly enough, seriously consider the Claimyr option I mentioned. When I used it, I spoke to an actual ESD agent who could see my claim and fix the issue immediately, which was way better than waiting for someone to call me back.

I contacted my state rep yesterday and got an auto-reply saying they'd get back to me within 3 business days. I might try Claimyr tomorrow if I don't hear anything by then. At this point, I just need someone at ESD to actually look at my claim!

I went through something similar last year - 9 weeks in adjudication with no movement. What finally worked for me was a combination approach: I contacted my state senator's office AND used a service to get through to ESD directly on the same day. The senator's office put pressure from above while I was able to speak to an actual adjudicator who could see what was holding up my claim. Turns out there was just a simple document they needed that nobody had told me about. Don't give up - keep trying multiple channels at once. Also, document everything (dates, times, who you spoke with) because sometimes different ESD agents give conflicting information and you need to be able to reference previous conversations.

That's really smart to use multiple approaches simultaneously! I'm definitely going to start documenting everything from now on - I wish I had been doing that from the beginning. Can I ask what service you used to get through to ESD directly? Was it something like Claimyr that Aisha mentioned, or a different one? And did the senator's office actually follow up to make sure your issue was resolved, or did they just make the initial contact?

I'm in a similar situation - 5 weeks in adjudication with no updates. Reading through all these responses, it sounds like the consensus is that contacting your state representative is more effective than the governor's office. I just looked up my district on leg.wa.gov and found my rep's contact info. For anyone else in this situation, make sure to include your Social Security number, claim confirmation number, and a brief timeline of your issue when you contact them. I'm also going to try that ESD Office of Constituent Affairs number that Carmen mentioned (855-682-0394) first thing Monday morning. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it's frustrating that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic unemployment benefits we're entitled to, but at least we can help each other navigate this broken system.

This is such a helpful summary of all the options! I'm dealing with the same thing (6 weeks in adjudication) and it's reassuring to know I'm not alone in this mess. I'm going to follow your approach and try the ESD Office of Constituent Affairs number first, then contact my state rep with all those details you mentioned. It's ridiculous that we have to become experts in navigating government bureaucracy just to get unemployment benefits, but I really appreciate everyone sharing what's worked for them. Hopefully between all these different approaches, one of them will finally get us some answers!

I'm going through the exact same nightmare right now - 8 weeks in adjudication and feeling completely helpless. Thank you all for sharing these resources! I had no idea about the ESD Office of Constituent Affairs number or that state representatives could actually help with this. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get through the regular ESD phone lines with zero success. I'm going to try calling 855-682-0394 first thing tomorrow and also reach out to my state rep. It's absolutely insane that we have to become detective investigators just to access benefits we've paid into, but I'm grateful this community exists to help each other navigate this broken system. Will report back if any of these approaches work for me!
